Playing Bahle Farms on Sunday and Arcadia Bluffs on Monday. Anybody know about the course condition at the Bluffs? Can’t wait to get up there!

83 yard hole-out for eagle yesterday on #13 at Sharf.

 

What's crazy is I haven't had a hole out or even a greenside chip-in in probably a year, and now I've done it three times in the last two weeks.

That was a tough one for me. I love the course and the message, But I didn't think i would almost be crying during a hole with a little girl talking about her dad dying.  I would prefer they have that near the memorial or an area of the club house.

LIV sucks and I’m by not interested or going to it, but the setup of everything for the event at The Cardinal is progressing

Can't blame the course for taking the money, but I wouldn't even consider going for free.

It would be interesting to see how those guys play the course I play all the time, but LIV will not get any $ or time from me

Normally I’d wait until after the trip to share any info about a course, but if I can save anyone from wasting their money by booking at Shanty Creek, it’s worth it. If you enjoy paying $183 for a 6 hour round, tee boxes that look like the picture below (or worse) and rude service, this place is for you. We had tee times booked 5:40 apart, and we had to quit after a 3-hour nine on Cedar River, because we knew there was no way we would make it to our second round. Sad to see how this place has gone downhill since I was last here. We’ve been several times, and it was always good, but unless they turn a lot around, we’re not coming back. To their credit, they did comp our second round (on the Legend), so we’ll see how that goes, but we’re absolutely fuming about how bad it was this morning.

Bahle Farms was absolutely beautiful this last week. Arcadia Bluffs was even better. I drove up to the South course clubhouse and the property reminded me of Chicago GC. I’ll need to put that one on my list.

The Legend was in much better shape, and staff was much friendlier, and pace of play was good. I don’t know what is going on over at Cedar River, but it was night & day

I know they had some issues coming out of the winter, but if its not growing in its time for a resod. Unacceptable this late in the year at those prices.

My golf trip starts today...kinda. My buddies fly in from Phoenix this afternoon and we play a warm-up round on Sharf, then our group of 10 heads up to Ludington/Manistee tomorrow morning. 

 

Thurs: Hemlock

Fri am: Retreat 

Fri pm: Revenge

Sat am: Retreat 

Sat pm: par 3 course

 

Weather is looking amazing; low 70's and sunny!

Never played Hemlock.  Enjoyed Manistee National quite a bit when we were there in 2023.  Lodging is money as well.

Hemlock is awesome. There are some unique holes due to the sand formations on the property. 

 

We're staying in the Mackenzie cottage. The pics look nice, but I have no idea what the layout is like.

We stayed at Mackenzie cottage. It’s awesome for a big group. We had 16 people and PLENTY of room

Good to know! Long story but they messed up our reservation, so we got the Mackenzie for the price of the smaller 12 person cottage. Later on we lost two guys so now we're rolling with 10.

Mackenzie backs up to the green of one of the par 3s on the retreat. Great spot to screw around.

That would be the 17th green, an awesome and scenic hole.  Tee off and all carry over water. Whites play about 140 yards?

Got a good one lined up for tomorrow. Son has access to Radrick Farms and we’re on for noon tomorrow. Didn’t think that would ever happen.
