he’s so pretentious. Of course he makes Lydia’s amazing win about him. The part about his tattoos is especially priceless.

It’s their culture, like Justin Bieber and Drake, the Pretentious North

I thought the same thing. I especially cringed when he called her Queen. So does that make him the King? 🤣

All about him! I'm trying hard to think about any other coach in any sport who makes it all about him. I can't think of anyone. Hank Haney is also annoying. What is it about golf coaches?😂

I think he's done great work with Ko and she has more speed than when she was #1 as a teen. However the groomed murse Yoda schtick I could do without.

Don't know why he needs to go all zen monk, fix the swing without the mumbo-jumbo. It's like when I take my car to the mechanic I want the car fixed, not amateur philosophy hour.

Had a Canadian and a Brit try to explain the right to bear arms to me. Both were way off mark. I think arrogance comes to most people in most countries quite naturally.

Not saying anything against our friends up north or across the pond, but I assume they were trying to explain their perceived entitlement to prevent you from exercising your right to bear arms, lol.

I suspect he’s probably developed his coaching as his bio mechanics understanding improves.

I think even high level coaches are learning their whole lives and people like Butch Harmon probably only started hitting his best as a coach once he was past 50.  Have to wonder why Tiger ever left Butch.

I think in the past Foley could maybe get his pupils too stacked for what was natural for their backs but has probably learned from that and probably has a more tailored approach now.

When I look at his stuff these days it seems pretty sensible as far as I can see and probably explains why a number of tour pros still use him.

I agree with those who dislike Foley's instruction. I believe that if Justin Rose had a different instructor with him at the Masters and giving him advice his last three rounds wouldn't have been so awful. Good players who have worked with Foley are good in spite of him, not because of him. He's not the only bad instructor who teaches good players. As pretty much anyone who has seen Foley's instruction dvd can attest to it is garbage that isn't worth your time or money. Justin Rose would be better off finding another instructor to work with, but alas I fear that since he went back to working with Foley recently he is unlikely to part ways with him any time soon.

Didn't he basically ruin Park Mclaughlin's swing after his win? I think Parker may have alluded to this on a no laying up podcast, but I could be wrong about the player and the podcast.

I have a question.  Who would you hire to help you with your swing if money was no object?

That's a steeped question. Mainly because, yes you'd probably think Butch or someone else off the bat, but most of instruction is getting along with the coach and understanding what they are saying.

I feel that's also like asking if you made it on tour who would you want to hangout with. From watching on TV maybe you'd think it would be cool to be in the JT/Tiger/Freddie group of people, but maybe they're not actually what you make them out to be.

Foley has admitted numerous times that he made mistakes coaching players earlier in his coaching career and is more flexible. People running around blaming instructors for everything is lame because you have to do your research prior to working with someone and have the self awareness to realize whether or not their instruction fits what you are capable of doing.
