Weight position question

I recently picked up the 425 LST (replaced my 410+) and was told by the shop that the head weight position isn't designed for fade or draw bias, but more to align with toe or heel shots.  Something along the lines of putting the weight where you hit it most.

 

So, I noticed I tend to strike closer to the toe, but my miss is a fade -> Slice.  On a whim at the range today I put the weight in the toe side and it seemed to help with a more solid feel at contact and my shot shape seemed to be pretty normal for me.  In the back of my mind I just feel on the course it will be right going right tho..  

 

Anyone have some experience with putting the weight in the toe side and still hitting straight shots or draws?

They are not quite right - or really it's two ways to say basically the same thing.   Aligning the weight with your strike can certainly help minimize the gear effect side spin but it that exact same thing that provides shot shape bias when moving the weight.

 

However, regardless of where the weight is in relation to the impact position, the impact position can be very influential on the results.   It can effect the ball speed as well as the amount of gear effect (both horizontal and vertical).   So if the face impact position is less then ideal, moving the weight is a band aid at best.   There are better ways to tweak the equipment to help improve the face impact location.  The better ones are discussed here:

Center contact is the most important in my opinion as weight “bias” only alters the ball flight or flight direction a small amount. However, to your question?  The feel of swinging the club can change quite a bit depending on where the weight is located. In drivers that have heel/toe weight adjustability I find that neutral to more weight toward the toe feels better to me and I don’t notice any fade bias. I actually find it easier to feel the head weight and square the face more naturally. If I move the weight to the heel side it never feels right to me and always feels unbalanced.  You may be experiencing the same feeling and if your contact is getting close to center I think you are moving in the right direction.
