I'm a heavy putter lover...

Put the 375gm Spry Evo modded Odyssey Tri Force back in the bag today, made a bunch of putts, no 3 jacks....

 

I've flirted with heavier putters before, 375gm is probably the heaviest I have tried, most of my other sticks are less than 340gms.

 

Anyone else rolling a heavier head?

all my putters get the heavy weight treatment ... 35g in Scotty’s, not sure what weights my Matera Elite has in it,  it’s the heaviest ones of the 3

My lightest gamer is 365g. I prefer even heavier. My go to is a 400g long flowneck putter.  Feels great me for me.

I prefer a 360-365g gamer at the moment, I just got a 370g putter and it's a sledge hammer but so stable. Might want to try something around 400g maybe more as a training putter but I don't really like the super light ones, my stroke gets wonky but I like to  collect them.

I always preferred a slightly lighter putter, 340g or so.  However, my stroke has been going to s&^t and I recently picked up something with a 365g head, but with an 80g grip so the overall putter is heavy but the swingweight doesn't feel like a hammer.  Been stroking it better and better the more I play with it.

All of my putters are 370-375g. Anything heavier or lighter my putting suffers. Lag putts get worse if it’s too heavy, short putts get worse if it’s too light. To be honest, I don’t know what the swingweights are, but I spec them all out the same. 33”, SuperStroke Flatso 2.0, 68* lie, 3* loft.
 

I do have a dual balance/tank putter that finds the bag if it really goes south, and I have an armlock on the way to experiment with. So those builds have different requirements than my standard length stuff.

I do and why I went to an EVNROLL putter.  Feel like I can give it a solid start while keeping my tempo smooth.

I've used a 450g custom mallet from Tom Slighter since 2006. It wasn't an accidental acquisition; I still have most of the dozens of putters I went through... Tad Moores, Gauge Designs, Burns, Byrons, Bettinardi, Machines, and a few others; some I want to game on looks alone, but extreme head weight elevates my performance... I average just under 28 putts/round while the rest of my game pales in comparison.

 

Weight isn't for everyone but I'm easily adrenalized and during a round 450g feels like 350g might to a more temperate golfer; also, I play on average greens stimped 7 to 9; any higher and I'd need to use something lighter to differentiate between more subtle applications of force. I'd also add that high head weight helps me stay committed to line and speed.

I spent most of the winter rolling putts with lighter weight putters. I wanted to switch to a longer putter (35 to 36"), so I went with lighter heads. The longer length was a good move, but I felt like I couldn't "feel" the lighter heads. I extended my 375 gm head and feel at home again...

330 gram is the heaviest I seem to be able to use and roll the ball well, make putts. I guess for me 315 grams is a little too light, 320 grams is ok, 325 gram head weight seems to be ideal.

There are some light weight grips available, such as one Rosemark Grips offers, that will enhance the sense of head weight with a lighter head weight putter. The Rosemark I like is the 1.25 model which weighs 35 grams. A grip that light can make even a 320 gram putter head "feel" heavy.

When you guys are referencing certain weights, are you speaking of putterhead weight? Or the weight of putterhead, shaft and grip?

Just the head weight. Total weights will be in the 500g plus range

I had a 375gm JD Putters Newport type for a season. Not sure what it was made of, but the material was not "soft feeling"...

I play an Atlanta which isn’t the lightest but I have always found my lag putts with heavier putters to be very good, short putts are terrible because as described above, no feel.

I like my putters like I like my women short and a little bit of heft to them 😆. 33 1/2 inches 380 grams. I have a very loopy backswing with lighter putters. I tend to take it back a little to the outside and then reroute it to the inside. A heavier putter takes most of the loop out.

My putter is one of the heaviest here, as it also is counter-balanced. Love this thing and perform equally well with it on short and long putts. Keep in mind I choke down a good 2 - 3 inches, as it's designed to be able to do that.

I've got an Evnroll ER8 that is a 380grams head and it feels like butter... For me I find lighter heads I feel clunky. However, I've used heavy head putters for the last 15 years so it may be that I'm just used to that feel.

I have always gravitated to a heavier putter. Rolled the EVNROLL @375 gm until I found the SIK FLO (Armlock) at 415. Slows my stroke and to me I am more consistent!

Most of my gamers are 360 to 365g but recently I found a classic Ping Anser 2 that is around 330g and I was surprised of how it’s easy to control my putts. Heavier putters have more stability due to higher MOI but for those undulating fast greens, a light putter seems to work better for me
