Reputable Ebay MCC grip sellers?

Hey guys I am looking to buy new grips and not excited about spending 150 for 13 Golf prides. On ebay multiple sellers seem to sell the set for around 50-60 bucks, has anyone had luck going this route? Trouble with getting fake grips? Last year I bought some “ knockoff” champkey grips on amazon that were total garbage. Open to any suggestions. Thanks 🙂

I do not think the Champkeys are that bad at all. I play them and no problem. I have never had a problem with fake grips on ebay.

If Golf Pride MCC's are $50-60 they are fake. There was a thread a couple of weeks ago about them. i will go back and find the thread and post a link.

MCC is one of the most commonly faked grips. I'm not sure I'd buy them from anyone on eBay I hadn't previously done business with.

Good quality grips cost a lot of money.  If you are seeing any pricing for $50-$60 they are fake.

Pony up full retail for the real deal from a reputable authorized dealer if you want MCC's. Or be satisfied with fakes at a discount.

Absolutely agree. The eBay grips are pretty poorly constructed.
 

If you want good grips I don’t think there is cutting corners.

Just bought a set from golf balls dot com after someone on here posted a discount code for 20 pct off. I believe it is “20percent”. Think it’s the best you will find.

Actually they do exist on Ebay. For example Golfworks eBay store (todd1186). Of course they sell at retail. People continually cheaping out and buying a full set of GP MCC grips at $50-$60 get what they deserve.

So I have gotten a set of these fakes before. They were "certified" sellers per ebay, but when I opened them, smelled like kerosene. I didn't think much of them, then they were put on.

 

I remember thinking, "these feel better than normal." Played a couple rounds with them, again noting they felt "better" than usual. Then I did some online investigation, emailed Golf Pride, confirmed they were fakes. Removed them, got a refund from ebay.

 

If they weren't fakes, I would 100% buy them again as they felt better to me than the real thing, but alas, can't support fakes.

Right now callaway pre owned has 25% off all orders, and they have a decent selection of MCC grips in the more section. I’d assume these are new grips, as they are marked the same regular price as retail as there isn’t a market for pre owned grips and it doesn’t list condition like the pre owned items.

My opinion is it’s not necessarily about the technology and more about picking the grip that feels best in your hands and makes the club feel stable in your hand. People have different preferences on textures. The MCC grips are a hybrid between rubber and cord, and as such, are a bit more expensive since it’s not as simple of a production process

The one set of obvious knockoff grips I ever accidentally bought had a smell that made it obvious even before I noticed the off-color paint fill and the slightly wrong font on the lettering. Based on the smell, they were manufactured with some sort of chemical residue that I wouldn't put my hands on for any amount of money. In all seriousness, you could easily end up with some sort of carcinogenic or toxic chemical outgassing for dodgy grips every time you handled them.

Me personally I wouldn't buy any name brand grips off of Ebay (unless it is from the official seller of a well known retailer).  You're better off buying off-brand grips (clones of name brand grips, not outright counterfeits).  At least you know what you're getting with low expectations and are very unlikely that people will counterfeit clone brands.
