Shaft extension affecting flex or playability ?

I have a Ventus Velocore Blue 6S with a Ping 410 adapter.  I want to put this shaft in my TSi 3.  However, I'd like to tip the shaft an inch.  To offset the shorter shaft, I was thinking of an extension so that I can get the playing length at 45.5"

 

Questions:

1.   Is there a specific extension (brand) that works better than others for this?

2.  Will an extension affect the flex or feel of the shaft?

3.  Anything I need to avoid in this process?

I generally prefer these since they can easily be adapted to any shaft.   I can keep a few on hand w/o knowing ahead of time what shaft they might end up in.

No, not the stiffness feel - assuming the fit is correct and they were installed correctly.   They do add a small amount of counterbalance weight so it might be wise to refit for head weight after installation (don't use the swing weight scale to adjust - it wasn't designed to handle butt weight changes).  Just dial it in by feel on the range with some lead tape.

Thanks Stuart!  Appreciate the help.  After thinking on this, I may just go with a 1" shorter shaft and see how it plays.  If it's not to my liking, then I'll go down the road of the extensions.  I think I'd pull the grip and measure the ID of the shaft and get the premium graphite extensions 🙂

To test out shorter playing lengths,  most people just play with the club choked up.  Don't forget that head weight might have to be adjusted for different playing lengths.   Use this to help find the best playing length.
