A couple of years ago, I was at Lime Rock for SCCA regional races. One driver absolutely dominated the SRF race. Won with a huge lead, something you don't see in a SRF race. I congratulated him after the race.His name is Evan Slater.

He was Fifteen at the time!

If he manages to win one of the first 3 races this year he will beat Max for youngest F1 race winner. I'm not sure he will, but you never know until the green flag drops.

They had to use GPS because nobody cares if an Alpine was driving around. If he was in a Ferrari or McLaren there would be pictures everywhere. 🤣

Chaotic race with the track conditions and subsequent rain making tyre strategy difficult.

 

Piastri wasn't able to get away with the mistake when Norris just was able to save it.

Norris can drive in the rain. It's clear McLaren still has the car to beat and Max is going to have his work cut out to get number 5. I still think he's going to, but there are 23 more races, so we will see. 

 

Kimi looked the best out of the Rookies. Poor Carlos caught a snap, too, but Williams looks like the best of the rest so far.

So after this weekend I will say the one thing missing from Drive to Survive is any sort of closing listing of whos driving for who in 2025. Literally watch F1 every weekend and had no idea who a couple of the drivers were - had not even heard them mentioned on coverage or elsewhere. Would it kill them to just close the last 60 seconds of the last episode with a listing?

 

Good season but - right or wrong - pretty limited coverage of a lot of guys.

I think the only rookie they didn't cover was Isack and the tossing of Checo for Liam because that was after the season wrapped. They didn't talk too much about tossing Logan other than he ran a crash bill from 2 races that was more than most teams spend in a year. 🤣 

 

It will be interesting to see if Liam makes it a full year at RB. He had a pretty rough start.

Two races is kind of a joke, I dont care how bad he was. If you commit to a guy, you know he's going to struggle, this is really something.

 

On one hand, you cant fight for the constructors with one of your drivers in 16th every week. On the other hand - you could have gone to Yuki in the offseason. You knew what you had then.

Yeah, it should have been Yuki from day one. Helmut has clearly never been a fan of him (probably for reasons I shouldn't get into on here).

 

Given the issues with the car that Max has highlighted, we'll now see if having an experienced #2 can help bring it under control. No doubt that it was always going to be a thankless task to throw a guy with such limited time in F1 into that position.

Yuki's performance is exactly what RB needs going forward. They dont need a guy to win races, they need a guy to get points every race and learn from Max. Not saying they handled this right, but this seems like what the needed.

I don’t get why everyone thinks Red Bull don’t mind their second driver nog getting a maximum amount of points. Constructors title aside, even if the second driver takes some points away from the first driver, he’ll also take points away from the other competitors.
