Driver Fitting

So I had my first professional driver fitting today.  No club affiliation.  Curious about your observation on these numbers ... anything I should focus to improve.

 

Background:  60 years old and 3 hcp.

 

Current Club:  TS3 10.5 with a Stock Hzdrus 60 gram Stiff shaft at 44 inches.  I also toy with a Phenom 60 gram Stiff and Oban Devo 70 gram Stiff playing at 45 inches.

 

Tried:  All my setups along with the Latest from Callaway, Taylormade, and TSI3 - all with a couple shaft and setting combos.

 

Although many were near the same results it appears the TS3 set at d4 (11.25) with the Phenom shaft playing 45 inches with weights in draw position were best.

 

Numbers:  Club Head Speed              102

                   Ball Speed                          146

                   Launch                                12.5

                   Spin                                      2128

                    Carry                                  241

                   Total yardage                      271

                    Smash                                1.48

 

Trying to get the numbers for Attack, Max Height, Land Angle.

 

Curious if anything jumps out at you.  I am not that familiar with the numbers other than google.

smash is pretty good there really hard for us ams to get close the that coveted max number of 1.5 and the launch and spin are a match for each other 2100 at around 12-13 is pretty playable whatever set up those numbers are I would say would be a solid option

If I had numbers like those, don't think I'd be changing anything.

I looked up the calculation for Smash Factor … this should be 1.4314.  Hummm

How was the dispersion on your drives? If you want a bit straighter, you have room for more launch/spin to help straighten things out. I'd be curious to see how you would make out with more loft and a lighter shaft?! There are more combos I would have you hit. But hard to tell what you are looking for in a fitting/new driver without more info. from you. During a fitting, the first thing is the 'interview' to see what the player is looking to improve etc.... and go from there.

I would absolutely agree. I put chart up so OP could see what optimized numbers are according to trackman. It's a good reference but not a goal for playing in the real world.

Yeah just looking at the ball speed compared with club speed I would have guessed smash was lower than 1.48 just did the sums 1.48 smash at 102mph club speed should be 150.98mph ball speed. 

 

Or taking it as ball speed is correct then club speed would be 98.64mph. 

 

I have started to ignore the club head speed and smash numbers and just look at ball speed. Whatever is giving the highest output is obviously working best regardless of the other 2 numbers assuming other launch parameters are within good ranges obviously.

Agree.  Especially that the dispersion and the consistency of the numbers can be just as important (if not more) in the fitting as the average numbers.   That will largely come down to the consistency of the face impact - so seeing the impact patterns (impact tape or foot powder spray) is data I'd like to see before evaluating the numbers.
