Just bumping this thread to see if anyone else plays this shaft or has more details on the profile of it.  I had a fitting yesterday and this turned out to be the best fit for driver for me.  Club Champion has it as "Accra TZ RPG Tour Spec 62g M4+" on their build sheet, so I assume it is the "RPG Tour 462" model from Accra's website.  While I can see the raw numbers of the EI values from butt, mid, and tip, that doesn't give me the picture of the curve I like to see to really understand it.  Sounds like most people agree its relatively linear with no huge dips on the EI curve.

I don't think I see this shaft in Russ' golfshaftreviews database, so that's why I'm asking here.

For clarity, it was the RPG Gold that I was hitting yesterday.

Anybody else playing this shaft currently?  It was one of the few that had me finding the same spot in the driver face almost every single time.

Just purchased this same shaft after a Club Champion fitting. Similar experience in testing - whatever magic Accra put into this shaft had me flushing it on repeat. Avg across 6 consecutive swings: 117 CHS, 174 ball speed (1.4 std dev), 290 carry (3.8 std dev), 2600 spin (132 std dev!!!).

Feel to me was pretty unique. Definitely firm in the handle and tip, smooth and active but not loose.

same shaft as @Arlin964 - Accra TZ RPG Tour Spec 462 M4+, which according to Accra's website is 70g

Yup. I have the 462 M5+ and the handle is pretty firm. Great feeling shaft though, on a good swing, properly loaded.

I just hit this shaft at club champion and it did wonders for me

has been gaming tensei 1k but struggled to get spin down.  This did the trick and really hummed once I went from paradym triple diamond to ai smoke TD.

other best shafts for me were Ventus blue tr and la golf DJ.  Needed something with just a touch of feel in handle but super stiff tip

swing speed down a bit from not playing for a while but was in the 116-118 range.  I think this plays with a ton of smoothness for how stiff the profile actually is

Waiting for new club to come in and then can report back with some on course results

I just put a gold 462 m5 in a ai smoke 💎💎💎.  It’s a fantastic combo.

Just switched from the Qi LS to a g430 LST, using a TR black 5x might be worth picking up a gold again for a little test 👀

They are both very similar in terms of launch/spin/stability.  However, I felt as though the RPG Gold was smoother.

In initially testing it’s extremely smooth.

When building it up I couldn’t believe how stiff/solid the handle felt.   First swing felt nicer than i was expecting and was a nice piercing bullet fade

still waiting for my ordered shaft to come in but CC gave me demo shaft to plug into my ai smoke triple diamond head.  Best driving performance I've ever had.  This thing is so smooth, consistency so much better than prior tensei white 1k tx with paradym triple diamond.  It is also crazy smooth feeling, I've tried all the low low shafts and nothing came close to me in terms of feel.

Going to try and get back on simulator and mess around with the weights in the callaway head to see if i can really dial this in

Awesome that cc gave you a demo shaft to test. I've been gaming this for about a month now and absolutely love it. Smooth and stable is the theme here, as others have mentioned. I've historically been a very one-dimensional driver off the tee, but I'm able to hit different windows with much more success and confidence now. Crazy how this shaft lets me hit the low bullet squeeze fade, the high bomb draw, and everything in between. Some serious voodoo black magic going on inside this shaft hahaha

Testing

tz6 at m5 65

rpg gold 472 m5

Does the tz6 for me get a few pops that are longer , yes sir , however the gold is just so stable and the feel is more powerful.

Installed a tz5 m5 100 , freaking awesome, like a fujikura p95 but beefed up , gives me the ability to hit a slight draw with 3w which I like without the fear of going left

question : how does rpg gold compare to a tz5 , like any wrx’er so good in the 3w and its LONG , is it better than the rpg gold in the driver

I have both the rpg and tz5 gen2.  Tz5 is longer, rpg is straighter.

my challange with the rpg was swing weight.  I play my drivers shorter and heavier, but the rpg was a very very high balance point shaft.

I got fit for tz5 into 3 wood ~ a year ago.  I have it in my 3w and 5w - both are amazing.  During the fitting I tried it in my driver and it was awful for me, couldn't come close to finding center of the face.  This was at Club Champion so there is always potential issue with how heavy they swingweight.

Earlier this year was able to try RPG gold and it was amazing in driver for me, best shaft I have ever hit in terms of results but also feel - very smooth with crazy stability to me.  I didn't try the tz5 during this fitting so maybe my swing changed a bit but I doubt it, because my 3w and 5w are still amazing.  I also was looking for Dricing Iron shafts, and hit both tz5 and tz6 very well and actually hit the tz6 prob a little better than the tz5, but I wound up in the Tensei 1k white, which was better than both accra shafts.

CHS with 3w is around 110, driver is 118 - 120 for reference, m5 in all of the accra shafts.

The tz5/tz6 line in the photo (shafts are mostly black with silver writing) you show above is the previous generation.

The separate tz5 and tz6 links are for the 2nd  generation shafts (they look more metallic with black writing).  basically updated materials and slight tweaks to the profile.

Tz5 m5 100 - in the 3w might be my fav of the bunch , slight draw consistently .

rpg gold - toying with heads , Titleist tsr 2 or 3 , have tsr3 installed , with 2 weights in the rear , setting D1 , a1 or D4 , a1 or d4 the go too bc they are point and shoot , d4 with the rpg provides me a nice power fade shot shape and move the ball back a deck hugging bullet . This shaft feels the best of the bunch

tz6 st , love the low torque feeling , prop the longest driver shaft vs the rpg , but not as consistent

wrx question that urns inside me ; tz5 gen2 70 or 80 to try in the driver bc the 3w is just that good

Gen 2: the weight is the labelled weight. Instead of 60 grams raw unpainted and 68 grams with paint and graphics they are 60 grams stated weight and 60 grams with paint and graphics.

Not a lot was really changed in profile. Nothing you’d notice.

Got a tz5 m5 +

to compare the two tz5 vs gold rpg

gold ultimate stable of stable shafts , if I miss with it is a low launch straight missile , barely moves off line

getting it to go like the tz5 is actual work , slightly less distance with the gold in a. 8* GT2 Titleist head , but with the gold I could loft up easily to a 9 or 10

ball speed does not deviate from around 170 - 174 for me , tz5 I got into the 178’s but fluctuates from 170 to 178 , strike not nearly as consistent

launch 8* , right at 10* ( hitting prov1 x left dot )

if I wanted to loft up that would be the shaft , but in an 8* head  I’m not bring enough heat from a physics stand point

Checking in with everyone here. Anyone ever play or try this compared to TR Black 6x?

looking for something similar to that but just a touch stiffer.

I love the TR Black 6x but can still turn it over by accident. Seems like the stiffer I go the less likely that is…RPG 462 m5 fit the bill?
