Putter shaft, what if?

Snagged a Piretti CW2 off eBay this week. I prefer 375 gm heads, this was a great deal, even though its too short for me at 33".

 

The putter was reshafted at some point, whoever did it was not a pro, there was epoxy all over the place. Today, I pulled the too short shaft and cleaned off the head.

 

I play 35.5" putters and want to use the right length shaft, I have an old parallel tip pullout shaft that fits the 370 head perfectly, just a hair too long. I was going to trim the butt and use it. The shaft is not a putter shaft though, I think its an old True Temper Dynamic shaft. It has step pattern.

 

Anything wrong with using an iron shaft in a putter?

May not be as stiff as a "putter" shaft ... but you could give it a try. Worst thing that happens is you have to pull the shaft and regrip another one.

That's what I was thinking. I would be interested to see if you notice a difference in feel

I did find a stepless shaft in stock at the PGASS not too far away, so I might just go that route if they are willing to chop it for me...

Probably could have threw an extension in it to get it up to length or just buy a KBS Putter shaft, they are like $40 and well worth the money

I recall hearing somewhere that at some point the ping anser was shafted with a one iron shaft. Don’t recall the flex.  Do recall people loving feel.
