I need some help with Shaftshack.com

Not sure if this is the right place or not, but here goes...

 

I rented a Ventus velocore shaft from them a week ago.  They shipped it USPS in a tube container, with a preprinted return slip - pretty cool 🙂    I used the shaft for a full day and then put it back in the tube and dropped it off at the Post Office the next day.  All easy, simple and convenient.

 

When the package arrived back to Shaft Shack it had been damaged to the point the shaft was broken 😞  Needless to say, I did not return it that way, it was damaged in shipping.   Shaft shack immediately charged me full price for the shaft, grip and connector without any sort of communication regarding the issue.  I've been to my post office and am working with them to prove I dropped it off in perfect condition.  Meanwhile, I have called Shaft Shack a couple times a day for the past two days, left several voice messages, but no contact.  I've also emailed their 'info' address and their 'legal' address to start working towards a resolution, but nothing from them.

 

If this had happened to you, what would you do?  Looking for some advice / help here..

Hi Rod,

I would call your credit card company and file for a chargeback.  You did everything right on your end.  Shaft Shack should have insurance included on all their labels.  If they choose not to insure the shipping that is on them.  You dropped the shaft off and used the provided label, your job is done.  If it gets damaged Shaft Shack should file a claim with USPS.  I wouldn't even bother trying to contact them further.

Well they are a member here so would try that avenue as well. 

 

But if the box itself was damaged, which would need to be if the shaft was broken, then it had to have happened during transit as usps will reject any damaged boxes before shipping and therefor should be covered by their insurance
