Anybody playing the PXG 0211 st blades?

Don't have any experience with the j15cb, but my MP-54's appear to look similar to the Bridgestone. Here's some comparison pics. all 7 iron

54 is definitely more forgiving, especially towards the toe, nothing drastic though. I do find the 0211st forgiving for a blade, probably as forgiving as you can make it keeping the classic look

The 0211 STs were never 650/club, I don't think they've been discounted at all since release. The 0311 STs were something like 650/club when released but they're quite different. Fully milled head and perimeter weighting like the sugar daddy wedges.

The original ST are fully milled and originally carried high price tag. The newer ST are not fully milled and are priced cheaper. The 0211 ST were somewhere between $150 - $200 when originally released and have been price reduced multiple times.

Started at 149 a club I got them at 119 and now 88 😞

They were $77 on black Friday. I think my 4-9 set with MMT shafts quoted at $528 and that's less than my Haywood heads only.

I'm doing a fitting for them next Wednesday. I have not done a fitting yet, so this is a new experience.

Be wary of the swing weights as the heads are really light. I had to add tape to get to d2

Stupid fedex got my hopes up and crushed them.  I got excited for a second when the dog started barking, but it was just one of the neighbor kids, not the fedex truck.  Looked at the tracking number again and now there is no date listed.

Got them today.  I was able to hit a few balls in the back yard before it got dark.  The first few I topped (I guess being too excited).  Found a groove and started hitting them well.  Only had time to swing the 9 and gap (5 iron twice too, probably not finding those balls in the woods).  I would love to swing them tomorrow, but I'm leaving for out of town tomorrow morning.  I may try and sneak in 9 on MLK.

So I hit them again in the backyard and was slicing more than usual.  It seems like I am getting worse with them.  The fitting I hit them extremely well, Wed I hit them ok and today it was bad.  I need to go to the range tomorrow and either get it worked out or take a step back from blades.  They sure do look good though...

These sure are nice looking. Happy to report that a partial set will be delivered to my door before too long, certainly in time for golf season here. It will be worth the wait. 
 

can anyone comment on the stock pxg grip quality, characteristics?

IMO, they're decent Lamkin z5 grips. However, they get a lot of hate from other users on these boards. Personally preference I guess. Personally, I hate Golf Pride Tour Velvets which come standard on so many other clubs and can't wait to switch those out.

Tell me about this partial set of you do not mind. I’m considering a half set but would need to tweak the lofts slightly.

I really wanted to try these, damn disappointed, but thems the breaks. Fitting didn't happen and it doesn't look like it will in the future. PXG just ain't for me, I guess. 🤣

Ya, just went with 7,8,9,w. Kinda thinking later I’ll need a 6iron to go with my current set up. I added a 5 hybrid this year as an experiment, untested however. I’ve been know to carry only 8-9, or so, clubs including putter.

I’m kicking around getting 5, 7, 9, and Gap for a half set with a PXG 56 to round out the bag. I’d bend the gap 1 degree strong.

I need to buy some John Daly pants apparently. I wear jeans at work and Edgewater has a "no denim" policy. He said I could wear rain pants, but I don't golf in the rain. And why rain pants are acceptable but not Lucky's just seemed odd (they aren't torn or stained or anything). 

 

So when would I reschedule it for since what I wear to work is unacceptable and it's during the workday? It would need to be a day off and I would need to acquire appropriate attire. 

 

While I did want to try and likely buy them, I don't feel the need to dress up for it. 🤣

I've been looking at the 0211 ST irons recently as they are £75 in the UK or I have been looking at the 0311 P irons as I feel they'd be a tad more forgiving? They're £135 a club, although I feel not a horrendous price per club, does it warrant nearly double the price?

Again, tied between steel and graphite shafts. I swing about 85-90mph. I currently game nippon ns pro 950GH shafts. The MMT 80 shafts interest me but not sure if they'd feel too "whippy"? Has anyone had experience in coming off a heavier steel shaft to a lighter graphite?

Just pulled the trigger on the st blades with kbs 130x. Anyone playing this combination? I could not resist at $69 a club! (Heroes discount) i got them yesterday, wsiting for my grips to come in. But man the 4 and 5 iron are intimidating, coming from z785.
