I think Rickie’s best days are behind him. Players younger, hungrier and better than him come out every year. He went from future star to fan favorite to overrated to maybe/could be to barely keeping his card pretty quick. He is more likely to fall into conditional status or need a medical exemption soon than win.

You might be right but PGAtour.com says he is exempt through 2022-23. (Not 100% positive how they calculate this, but they likely tacked on an extra year for his 2017 and 2019 wins to his 5 year 2015 Players exemption.)

Yeah I don’t think he’s going to win by the time that’s up and as every year goes by more new players join the tour. Someone has to move down the priority list to make room for them, and Rickie is looking like one of those guys.

I expect that when each turns 50 years old Koepka will have achieved career earnings of $70 million, Na and Fowler each $50 million.

EARNINGS
1 Tiger Woods $120,851,706
2 Phil Mickelson $94,814,452
3 Dustin Johnson $72,594,310
4 Jim Furyk $71,479,894
5 Vijay Singh $71,236,216
6 Rory McIlroy $57,519,984
7 Adam Scott $56,960,400
8 Justin Rose $55,757,245
9 Sergio Garcia $53,537,052
10 Matt Kuchar $52,867,169
11 Ernie Els $49,339,400
12 Jason Day $49,004,626
13 Jordan Spieth $47,750,891
14 Bubba Watson $47,439,129
15 Zach Johnson $47,138,301
16 Davis Love III $44,944,195
17 Steve Stricker $44,936,354
18 Justin Thomas $44,085,824
19 Webb Simpson $43,196,393
20 David Toms $41,901,709
21 Stewart Cink $41,757,459
22 Charles Howell III $40,999,456
23 Brandt Snedeker $40,169,141
24 Rickie Fowler $39,990,482
25 Luke Donald $36,796,359
26 Brooks Koepka $36,670,172
27 Kevin Na $36,664,125
28 Patrick Reed $35,505,096
29 Rory Sabbatini $35,341,989
30 Paul Casey $34,879,789

Surprised/impressed Love III is this high on the list given he's a bit older than almost everyone else on it (the oldest?) and it skews much more recent due to how crazy the purses have gotten.  I'll have to look at his record, knew he was very good obviously but that THIS good

That's exactly what happened. It's a normal occurrence for all players that win events. Also due to C19 in the 2019/2020 PGA Tour season had no impact on a players exempt status. Nobody lost their PGA Tour status. It was like a freebie exempt season

Still 18 holes left in Vegas, but at 32, he seems to be swinging well and doesn't look like he is struggling to keep his card.

Yeah I’m not exactly looking like a soothsayer here huh!?  I didn’t see any coverage today but the Twitter says he hit 18 GIR, which I’m told is as good as a guy can do.

Na won’t catch or pass Brooks.

and Rickie won’t win again on the PGA tour.

He was swinging VERY confidently and the announcers were gushing about the hard work he had been putting in. Apparently, he has gone on a fitness and diet regiment the past few months that has yielded a significant drop in body fat % among other things. If you're a serious pro athlete, you probably don't want your wife to be in better shape than you- https://images.app.goo.gl/76hebu5hKeAktEF49

Add- Some 18 GIR performances are better than others. Rickie had 3 eagle putts the back 9 and tap in birdies on both the front 9 par 5s. #1 SG tee to green for first 3 rounds per announcers.

Rickie said exactly this in the post round interview, but also said that he liked how he responded when the juices got flowing again.  Even if he doesn't win today, I'd be shocked if he doesn't win again on the PGA Tour.

How much body fat could he have dropped?  Already about a 28 waist?

Na will probably pass them both if he has a few wins. Tournaments pay more than they used to. Nicklaus could win 100 in his time period and easily be surpassed by a modern player winning 50.

Now - inflation adjusted winnings? Brooks will probably lead that category of the three players. The major wins were big scores.

I think fitness is very beneficial to golf but his wife is an Olympic sport athlete.  He's better off focusing on golf skills rather than trying match her fitness.

I know Na has some sponsors abroad (like the shirts deal and other small companies in Korea). However, I'm pretty sure Koepka has many sponsors too (like the beer and airline one). And I think the amount should be quite similar. I don't think Na is super popular in Korea anyway (he was well known for something else (his old gf's mom) back then as long as i know (I read it from here).

I have no dog in this potential fight, but if Cincy is being clever with his wording he could mean pole vault is an Olympic sport, and Mrs. Fowler does some pole vaulting.  Therefore an Olympic sport athlete.

Yeah, I apologize if people thought I was insinuating he wasn't working on his game.  My point was simply that part was much more important that chasing extreme fitness.  And he had one of the best ball striking weeks of his career so the results show.

The question I have is who is the most surprising name to see on that list?

Or, what names makes you go “Dang, I wouldn’t have they made that much over their career”?

For me, the Na/Bruce stat is interesting but I’d be shocked if Na won that career long battle (unless Bruce keeps getting hurt or quits).

I like Kevin Na, Brooks has been hurt a lot and Fowler's game hasn't been as good the past few years. With that said, I expect Na to be behind the other 2 when all is said and done.

I hope Kevin keeps playing well, but I expect Fowler to rebound.  Yes, his approaches and putting stats have declined, but he was top 10 at the PGA and he hasn't missed more than 2 cuts in a row since 2016, I believe. Certainly not at peak form, but not that far off. I suspect he will win and make the TC again.

I'll stick with this prediction. Na fell off my radar when he went to LIV, but still a fan of Rickie...good to see him win today.
