Camillo testing L4V at Buick invitational on cobratourblog. Can anyone tell what shaft is in it?

it is a F7M2 from Matrix. He has been playing that shaft since mid season of
last year and at Tiburon at Greg Normans tournament we ask
him why he switch from the v2 to Matrix and he said," longer and straiter I had
to switch they are awesome."

the F7M2 is red, camillo uses the TP-7, i saw them building it in the tour dept.

I tried this one at the store today, and have to ask: swing speed is not exceptional (around 102 after MUCH trying), looking for high launch, low spin, what shafts work in this monster? Is there a specific magic ticket, or would an Ozik be fine?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the stock shaft in these bad boys? Also how do these shafts perform? I am a high ball hitter that plays a fade. My SS is 105-110.

It's a 62g Diamana.

Everyone is saying (well, Robopti) to use a PM702X. I have used that shaft extensively, and with what ppl say about the head, I would have to agree. Try using a straight inserted X, no tipping. I found that heavier heads tend to counter somewhat the stiffness of that shaft.

At first guess, probably has some hot melt in the head for weighting. That will deaden the sound.

I asked about the Speed Pro LD from the US Open. I remember talking to him in the van and I saw the Speed Pro LD X w/ V2 that said Camillo on it ( I think I still have pics somewhere) He told me that Camillo could not keep that driver in the air because of how low spin it was. I thought that was interesting and was wondering if he found the same with the L4V.

Really if the tour only Speed Pro LD X was such low spin I would think that the L4V would be able to accomplish this even more.

TRB, do you remember if it was a proto V2 or not and what weight it was? Every V2 I've played was high spin so it must be that head (Speed Pro LD X) which is very interesting to say the least as I've never even given that head a thought and I guess if it weren't for the talk here about the L4V it would have gone unnoticed also.

Now that I think of it I remember people complaining that the faces were closed on those (even the Xs) but I could be wrong and if Robo didn't acquire Pro LDs it was probably for that reason. He outbid me on a Jason Gore Speed Pro D 8.5* and paid close to $900 for it on Fleabay which I thought was nutz but if he wants something he definitely gets it.

Actually, I don't think this driver ever even saw the light of day. This was the head like the M & the F LD heads, but it was marked as a Speed Pro LD. I have some pictures of it up on the "other site" I will check and see if I took one of the shaft. I remember in the van at the Open they had a Speed Pro D w/ TP7-X an S w/ White board in like 7.5 and the Speed Pro LD w/ V2. They also had about 20 to 25 other combos as well, but those were the ones that caught my eye the most and Chris told me about Camillo not being able to keep the LD in the air long enough because of how low spin it was.

I will say this Chris Tuten the Cobra Tour rep is a great guy. Camillo had just finished his practice round so he was in the van and I spoke to him forsecond, but he kept his clubs in the van and Chris told me to look at whatever and take pics of whatever I wanted. The Titleist van was just as cool Steve Mata is hilarious.

Camillo had a nice round of -3, 69 today.. but check out his driving stats, he´s dead last in driving accuracy and yet he only managed 252 yards of the tee, T135th in length. Wonder if he´ll still be using the L4V tomorrow.

After the way he hit that club in the practice round I am very surprised he put it in play, and I guess that the numbers tell the story, it will be interesting to see if he keeps it in play.
