Vegas, Mesquite, Utah

My wife and I are going to Vegas for 8 days in November and looking for golf suggestions.
First St. George Utah area. We have played Sand Hollow and wouldn't mind playing it again. Any other courses a nice or nicer scenery wise? Hard to imagine. I know of the Ledges, Copper something, any other lesser known rec's? Wouldn't mind up to an hour drive from St. George.
Now Vegas. Courses are insanely priced for tourists. We've played Coyote Springs, Badlands now closed, the Pauite courses, Boulder Creek, Sunrise, Boulder Creek city course off the top of my head. Looking for some off the beaten path courses that won't cost an arm and a leg. Don't have to be top notch courses. We'll likely play one upscale course, too. Any suggestions?
And finally, Mesquite. We have played Conestoga, Wolf Creek and one of the Palmer courses there, I think Oasis. Would like to play Conestoga again depending on cost. Any suggestions?Something must be going on in Mesquite Nov 5-6 as we couldn't find a room available.

The Nevada Open might be going on about that time. We usually went the second week of November and if my memory is correct (extremely questionable) they were just finishing up when we were getting there. Could explain the room shortage.

Sand Hollow is worth playing again. If you haven't played Coral Canyon, that's a good one to play in that area.

 

Have you thought about going the opposite direction from Las Vegas instead of toward Mesquite or St George?  Mountain Falls in Pahrump is a good course "off the beaten path" and not too expensive. It's the opposite direction form Las Vegas  so not a good choice if you are going to Mesquite or St George.  

 

Primm Valley has two Tom Fazio courses south of Vegas

 

Reflection Bay is beautiful, but may be more expensive than you want.

I've played a LOT of places and I completely agree.  Another course fairly close to Sand Hollow is Sky Mountain.  It's a muni, but stays in good shape.  Fairly inexpensive to play.  Some of the holes aren't that pretty, but there are 6 or 7 that run along this massive canyon which makes for some pretty spectacular views.

I am heading up to that area as well...late November.

 

Any thoughts on places to stay in St. George? Entrada / Ledges / Sand Hollow? Anyone have any experience staying at these resorts? Would rather pay a few extra dollars for nicer accommodations...

Lodging at both Sand Hollow and Ledges is nice (you can get individual condos/homes both places), but I'd probably give the edge to staying at Sand Hollow resort (above the 1st floor) because the views are just amazing.  If you stay there (at the resort), make sure you request a room with a better view.  It's worth it even if you pay a little more.

We stayed at Sand Hollow and it was nice.  The views are incredible of course but the clubhouse restaurant had some good live music while we were there too. It's also super quiet and dark out there at night so you should sleep well.  It's basically someone's condo that you're renting out so plenty big and in good condition. Also, the Wee Links par 3 course at Sand Hollow is worth playing. We went after having dinner at the clubhouse with just a wedge and putter and had a blast.

I’m taking a trip out to the St.George area in beginning of March. I’m playing Sand Hollow and staying at the resort. I have time to play one more round. What course should I play between the Ledges and Cooper Rock? Any suggestions?

Copper Rock. The ledges isn’t all that great to be honest. Sunbrook is a very good golf facility but not the resort type. Coral Canyon is great as well. Entrada is my personal favorite.

I'm looking at a St George trip next Sept or Oct.  We would stay at Sand Hollow Resort.

 

How would you rank these courses without regard for green fees?
