Rovic RV1S upper bag mount

Hello all 🙂 

 

I recently picked up this cart to work with my Alphard V2.  While that all works great (turning was the big win for me here), I have noticed that the top bag mount (holder, or whatever it's called) is quite narrow.  It doesn't open up wide enough for my Titleist Hybrid stand bag to fit.   With my Clicgear 3.5+ the top mount is rather wide, the bag sits in (the stand legs is what makes contact), then the straps hold it in place. 

 

However, with the Rovic I can't get the bag fully seated.  I've tried pulling the stand legs off the bag, but that didn't help (and had other negative consequences).  I've measured between the arms on top and it's only 6.5" wide.   By comparison, the bottom mount is also narrow, but the arms extend out wider (see pic).  I'm thinking of grinding the top arms to see if they will open up wider.

 

Has anyone else run into this?   Is there a replacement top mount that would allow for a stand bag to fit in there nicely?

after some filing, I was able to get the upper mount to expand out wider and all is good now 🙂

Interesting, do you have the rv1s with the Bungie cord or Silicone straps?

 

I just got mine and I'm using it with the titleist carbon.  While they are different bags it's not even close to too narrow.  Mine has the Silicone Straps, maybe that makes a difference.

My Rovic has the silicone straps.  However, I pulled the bungie ones off my 3.5+ and put them on the Rovic.  I just like the way they look and work better

What exactly did you file? I have the same bag and problem.  Always tipping no matter how tight with the silicone straps.  Did you file the end of the triangle “point” of the arm so it opens up wider?

Here's a modification I made to my Rovic cart, and it's reversible. Aluminum bar stock, with carabiners on each end to keep it in place, and female velcro to minimize rubbing damage. I did this because my bag tended to squeeze into the gap, but it could possibly serve the purpose with larger-diameter bags.

Yes, I took a file to the pointy part next to the philips head screw.  That allowed the arm to open wider.

Resurrecting an old thread but the same or similar problem.  
 

I was able to get a great deal on a Bag Boy Hybrid Chiller bag. Great setup, pockets, and has a stand for stability at the range/practice center. Unfortunately, the stand mechanism is too big for the Rovic top mount (see pics). I bought a piece of bar aluminum like the user above but that doesn’t look like it’s going to solve the issue. I haven’t seen a ClicGear Cozy in person so can’t tell for sure if that would solve this problem or not. Anyone else have the same or similar problem?  If so, any solutions?

Any luck with this? Bought a new titleist hybrid bag and have the same issue up top. The cozy will not work as clicgear states it's not for the rovic rv1s. TIA

I have the RV1S and the Cozy worked. It was easy ro install and has worked flawlessly since i got it. The bungee straps hold the bag securely against the Cozy.

I’ve got the RV1S and use the cozy, works great.  If you put two of the pads side by side in the middle the legs should be on the outside of them.
