Masters Ticket Scalpers

Event ticket prices almost always drop as we approach the date; 99% of the time.  But more and more, people realize this, and wait, which can cause a "day-of" increase.

 

Inventory is relatively-high this year, so prices should start dropping (in addition to the huge drops we saw last week).  A Tiger announcement, either way, would be a big impact.  But I assume the eventual Tiger announcement will be on the last day possible, FRI APR 1st I assume.

Anyone order from Ticketmaster?  Still shows “Order in Progress” and their support is terrible.  I have 2 day shipping but thought they would be on the way by now.

Pretty sure Ticketmaster just puts their buying interface over Stubhub's inventory.  Looking at a few listings, they all say :

Notes From Seller

• These tickets are currently not in hand.

 

So, even though you paid for 2-day UPS, they won't ship until the Seller committed to selling them on Stubhub

Ticketmaster, and others, often sell tickets to various events with a delayed shipping date.  So even though you paid for 2-day, that doesn't mean you'll get them in 2 days.  It just mean that once the shipping date delay is over, could be months, then UPS gets them and delivers in 2 days.

And, Ticketmaster/Stubhub usually send out an e-mail once they ship VIA UPS (not necessarily when they ship regular USPS); have you received UPS tracking info?

No shipping notice yet.  Assumed that with tickets arriving last week to sellers, they would turn around and ship.  I might have a procrastinator for a seller…

A common practice for Stubhub sellers, particularly in this situation, ship as late as possible to prevent issues; tickets being resold by new buyer, multiple chances that one of the buyers turns you in, etc

Still waiting on my Tues tix from stubhub, ordered 2 weeks aho...its says delivery by April 1...I know that's 7 days away. But about to be in panic mode soon. Since everyone is getting theirs already..

And prepare to be on hold for 3-4 hours.  All they're going to say is "the seller stated in the listing that they would ship/deliver the tickets by 4/1"

I just did. Since it more than 48 hours from event can't really help. Said will be delivered by April 1st...for some reason I feel a little worried about this order. I'll holler back at them mid week if I still don't see a shipped confirmation

Tell them you are flying out before that date. I sold one and Stubhub contacted me asking if I could ship them earlier which I did.

If you don't have a UPS MY CHOICE account, set one up, it's free.  Then, once UPS scans the envelope the first time, you'll be able to see it, even if Stubhub doesn't send you a tracking email.

 

Another option would be to ask for them to ship to the Last Minute Services (LMS) pickup location, and you could pick them up TUE morning by the course.  Or on MON if you're already there.

Ok..I got my Mon from SB, just got confirmation Tues is OTW from SB. Here's my question, if I bite bullet and go Wednesday,  will I have access to Par 3 with practice tix? That is a different course, right? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Any WED ticket works.  The Par 3 course is inside the gates.  And WED prices are dropping!! 🙂

 

Downside of WED is; they close the main course at 2pm (I think) so only the Par 3 is open at that time

Thanks. Good to know as I will be there on Wed. I was actually wondering what they did that day and if everyone plays the par 3 or if some guys didn't or went to the main course afterwards.

So they won't allow you on the main course after 2?

The course is not closed during par 3. Last group goes off around 3/330 and I was on main course until then. When par 3 ends go BACK to the main course, it’s empty and you can walk around until 6/630. I was on the 12th teebox at Amen corner with less than 10 people around 6pm it was incredible 

 

Par 3 will be packed but you can still make your way around. Again I got there late and was less than 10 feet from Jack, Gary, Jordan, Justin, Ricky (2019)

What happens if a practice round or tournament round day is completely cancelled due to storms, or say the grounds close before noon - and you’ve bought a stubhub ticket?   I’ve heard that actual ticket holders get a refund and even free tickets for that day for the next year, but what if you’ve paid the stubhub price months in advance?

For practice rounds it depends on what time the course is closed.  MON 2014 they blew the horn at 10am, we headed to Hooters, and by noon we had an email from ANGC that we got our money back and would be able to buy the same day's tickets back for 2015.  MON 2019 they blew the horn at 2pm; we didn't get anything from ANGC.

 

If you had bought from Stubhub in 2014 you would have gotten your money back from Stubhub, as the event was "cancelled" and the original seller received his money back from ANGC.

 

If you had bought from Stubhub in 2019 you wouldn't have received anything, as it just ended early.
