grapevine golf courses

I'm going to be in grapevine Jan. 13-15.  If the weather is decent, I'd like to play a round.  Any course recommendations?

I enjoyed all of them and should be within about 30 mins from Cattleack BBQ, which is also a worthwhile stop.

Thanks I'll start looking at all of these.  Are these in recommended order or just a list?

Depends on where you are staying and your price range.  

 

Grapevine Muni-Great course but hard to get a good tee time if not a resident of grapevine

Texas Star-Best option for tee times and great course

Texas Rangers-pretty easy course and not a huge fan and also $125 to play

Stevens Park-Kinda out of the way but a fun muni track

Old American-Only afternoon tee times and i think still $125

Cowboys Golf Club-Over rated in my opinion and $200 to play

Don't know anything about current conditions but here are 3 more possibilities. Assuming Bridlewood is in good condition, I do recommend it.

Grapevine

 

In Grapevine you have the Cowboys club and Grapevine (27) holes. They are literally right next to each other. Cowboys is worth the experience if you have never played. Food is usually included.

 

Arlington

 

Texas Rangers- This course over seeds so it should be in great shape. They played a Korn Ferry event here early this year. I love this course.  

 

Tierra Verde- In a nature preserve always fun to play

 

Sky Creek Ranch- Keller, TX but a short drive and decent track.  Make sure you bring a few extra balls. It is a Robert Trent Jones Jr design. Greens and fairways are in great shape. (This is my home course-close to the house)

 

Texas Star in Euless is not to far and a great course that always in good shape.

I'd doubly recommend Tangle Ridge - I really enjoyed my visit there and am going back on Monday.
