It's akin to choosing a fast food burger chain over just about any local cafe.  Want a good cheeseburger?  Visit your nearest bowling alley, tavern, or cafe.  Most golf courses have excellent burgers too.

 

A guess would be that it was late and a "Run to the border" was the only option for John.

Yes - that's the closest but not the one I usually choose. I usually pick one on the route to my initial destination.

A lot of people prefer Taco Bell to "REAL" taco shops.

Sad but true. Just like a lot of people prefer McDonald’s, BK, Wendy’s etc. to a Tavern, Bowling Alley or Café burger. People want something super convenient and fast. And they actually like/prefer the FF burger. So it’s not like they feel they are sacrificing anything. I definitely do not fall into that category, but a lot do.

We are a nation of convenience, not quality.  I despise fast food, complicated shoes and Target stores in that order.

That does look good. Personally I’ll take a good ol’ traditional taqueria. Super and regular burritos, crispy and street/soft tacos, tortas, platters… Salsa bar with about 5 made fresh in house sauces, all you can eat chips. Super casual. They are plentiful here and I frequent my favorite a couple times a week 😊

Yeah, wish we had more authentic casual places like that, surprisingly few in NYC, just more restaurant type Mexican places. 

Although I saw this dope taco truck one day, thought I was dreaming! 🤣 Had to get a few, pretty good

Haha I'm not even a bass player; I just have a bass! Mostly more a drummer. And FWIW, wasn't using a pick - just my index fingernail. Covering this:

 

 

That was a fun gig an old buddy does every year around Thanksgiving at my beloved Double Down Saloon here in Vegas. Invites friends to come do a song or two on bass. There were 30 of us this year. Do a couple songs then at the end, everyone plugs into the board and does Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom." Hell of a thing to hear with 30 folks playing bass! 

 

When he asked me to play the show, I assumed he meant drums ... especially since I used to sit in with him back in the day if his drummer couldn't make it. Then he sends me a bass tab and I was like "Oh ... oh, ok!"

For whatever reason this topic reminds me of the convenience store I fuel up at once a week.  I purchased a blueberry fritter n orange juice and mentioned it was a lousy breakfast. The clerk said " honey your're good, there is a guy who works for county maintenance. he stops in here every single morning and buys a bottle of chocolate milk and a bag of Fungo's at 7 am." ..... uh no😂

Back in the day a Honey Bun and Mountain Dew was the preferred breakfast of stoners everywhere in the upper plains states.
