They need to have a Players PR Team Impact Program.  Tiger's PR team would have definitely won that one.  His team posts one social media swing that has more impact everyone else the entire year.  But let's be honest about what the PIP really is... it's appearance money under a different name.

I think the tour owes him a little cash even though he wouldn't think about doing anything that would jeopardize his endorsements.

from what i’ve seen the official rankings don’t come out until february. i think phil is trying to win by getting social media exposure by claiming he won

I love Phil, but this is dumb. He is a great ambassador, but if he doesn't win the PGA he's not even in this conversation. So win a major and PGA will throw more money at you. Give him third place if you have to. 

 

They should be using this to positivly reinforce what Max Homa does on social, or go full WWE and give 1 and 2 to Brooks and Bryson and let that fued go infuego into the next year... or give it to DJ so we can all bet on how much snow he'll buy with it.

I think you need to check your numbers, you win a major, your getting $1.2 million at least.  Then again I may be wrong, cause all these majors ran together cause of the covid bs.

correct but the PGA Tour has said the rankings go until the 31st of december. then everything has to be reviewed by an auditor. which could take weeks, so who knows if he won

Can't really argue with that.  PIP is just everything that's wrong with golf summed up in one package.

 

It used to be kids putting at night dreaming this one putt is to win the Masters.  Now what is it?  Kids under the covers saying with this one tweet, I could win the PIP!

 

Moms and Dads all over the world are barging in on their kids' private moments and when they find out it's an iPhone in their hand, it's the parent feeling shame.  What a world!

gosh forbid you get rewarded more for winning a major?

 

phil has been very active on social media the past couple years. The little lessons he gives on Instagram are great. 
 

giving it to Homa would be like giving out participation trophies. Phil gets more engagement. He’s a bigger star. 🤷‍♂️
