I'm sure it's appreciated but TW doesn't need the money. TW doesn't get out of bed in the morning for money and he sure doesn't "tweet" for money.

 

It's nice to see Phil and especially TW get acknowledgement for carrying the tour all these years. Those guys built this thing years ago and they are still the biggest names in the sport.

Phil 1, Tiger 2 or Tiger 1, Phil 2.  It doesn't matter.  The PGA Tour knows they can't afford to lose either one of them right now to the threatening "World Tour".  They'll start giving the younger players the money soon enough.

Tiger isn’t going to the new leagues and Phil has already made up his mind that he is. I don’t think the PGA Tour cares if Phil leaves. The Champions Tour will be more worried, especially if Phil is banned.

100MM for how long?  If it’s a one time deal, Phil already makes 

 

50MM a year in endorsements 

 

So he gets another 100MM in his pocket. Nice.

 

But walk away from the pga tour and face a ban?

Yes, Rose, Stenson, Casey. Maybe Rickie. But even those guys may not want to do what they are told by mandate.
