@pseudoswede  Soooooo our currently planned baring an economic world collapse AUS 23 golf trip has been moved by 10 days and booked......  The Australian F1 is now DEAD in our sights   😃

Edit: Took your advice plus was cheaper flights BUT I see the package deals to get in the pits sold out in 2 hours on Monday night...... uggghh   Have to work on that...!

A lot of snow coming down in the Glenwood area today 😟

Not a lot of warming up in the 10-day forecast - let's hope to get a few good weeks before Thanksgiving or this could be one of the earliest ends of golf season in my 10 years up here

There are a lot of things I miss about golfing in Colorado but snow isn't one of them.  The frozen tundra is another.  Hoping for great golf weather the next few months for my Colorado golfing brethren!

That's ok. If I had to play the average Florida course all year I'd give up the game.

No doubt about that!!!  I was spoiled to have lived across the street from Collindale Golf Course for the past 8 1/2 years and making this my home course.  I first played Collindale the summer of 1989 and have been playing it frequently since then.  Also the plethora of terrific courses around the region made me spoiled.  I have found a couple decent public courses at decent prices here in the Palm Coast/Daytona Beach area but haven't found a course that I can truly make as my home course.  There are a few private clubs here that would no doubt be outstanding but the initiation fee and monthly dues would not be outstanding.  I'd rather have a pool built than belong to a private club.

I certainly hope the people who comprise this group realize how fortunate you are to have great courses to pick and choose from.  After 4 months of being away I have come to realize this and look forward to returning to Colorado and tee it up in the future.  Cheers to all !!!

I actually had a round in under 4.5 hours at Colorado National yesterday. They also have little papers on every cart telling people they only get 1 warning about slow play before they will be asked to move to the next hole. They may finally be taking pace of play seriously there. Previously I never had a round under 5 hours on the weekend there. Course is in good shape.

I got roped into playing Lone Tree after work tomorrow. Probably my last round of the season.

Weather up in Aspen/Basalt this weekend looks dreadful, too. May have to leave an hour or two earlier than planned to make sure we can make it there by 1pm.

Weather still glorious here in Fort Collins. It's been an epically beautiful fall, with no big snow storms or deep freezes so the trees have just been bright yellow, orange, red. Just had a thoroughly enjoyable practice session at Collindale. Rain Dance in great shape. Collindale's greens seem to have transitioned into fall/winter condition, pretty shaggy and bumpy. But overall I feel incredibly grateful to playing golf through the end of October and into November. That's generally not possible in Wyoming.

On a different note, this was kind of a year of experimentation for me with different clubs and putters, and I feel super excited about where my bag and game are at, at the moment. ONLY thing I am going to do is pre-order the G430 LST 9* driver because I am loving the G425 LST I just got when the price dropped. If you look at it one way, I won't have to "pay" anything for the G430 because I will sell off all the clubs that were experimented with that didn't make the final bag. I am hoping this bag will be set for (I know this may sound crazy) the rest of my life or until my swing speed drops dramatically.

Love golf, love Colorado, love life!

If you want to sell your G425 LST locally, I may be interested.

What a gorgeous (but breezy) evening for golf.

To make things interesting, I parred all odd holes and didn't par the even holes (two bogeys, a double, and a quad where I shanked three shots and three-putted). I even used the same two Pro V1x's the whole round. The course itself was in spectacular shape, and the greens were rolling crazy fast.

I'm having some tempo issues with my driver, and I'm missing my irons all over the clubface. Things to look forward to working on next season, I suppose.

Quail Dunes was good and we played in under 4 hours. Considered going another 9 but the wind was picking up and it was getting colder. Still really cheap and worth the drive. Some idiots had damaged a couple spots on a few greens earlier this year so those were sanded but they didn't come into play at all. The maintenance team has a page on their web site where they b**** about things and it can be unintentionally funny sometimes:

"Continued repair work needed on the greens from damage inflicted by golfers including divots to 6, 4, and 12… as well as numerous putter gashes repaired."

Walked CGC yesterday.  We basically had the course to ourselves...played 18 and then walked around and played 4 more holes for fun.  Was a little chilly but walking wasn't too bad and the wind never got too crazy.  Course was still in amazing shape although the greens were much slower than usual, so that was tough to get my mind around.  I love walking that course though.

I know I ride hard for Battlement Mesa but it's my home course and I like it a lot. Exciting news in that this fall the empty desert area right of the landing zone on 17 (yellow outline area) has been graded and seeded with should end up being light rough, wispy grass and not just clumpy dirt and sage brush.

With the way the wind blows (purple arrows) it's a nice change as it will be more playable but the best line is still left center of fairway to have the best chance of getting home in 2 or an easy lay-up. The layup and recovery from way right (as it's a pretty good slope when you get right of the right rough now down toward the street) won't be easy, but it should keep play moving without looking for balls.

Light-green area is a deep grass bunker. I'm talking to the super about widening the fairway (about where the pink line would be); it's 33y wide now and making it 40-45y wide would be great again when you're playing an almost dog-left left with wind in and off the left. Green has 3 sections, front left and middle are pretty benign, back left is a shelf that's hard to get to and right is a bit of a shelf and has false front and false back so it's a tricky wedge or short game shot. Great hole and I think this will be a good playability upgrade.

It'd be a fun weekend - playing it twice helps as there are a few blind shots and weird things that are best appreciated after seeing it once. If you have the time I'd for sure say take an extra day this way and play Devil's Thumb as it's my other course I gush about that absolutely no one plays.

Oh it's definitely going to be a 2-3 day trip. A 3.5 hour day trip is an hour too long. I've never played Redlands Mesa nor Tiara Rado either.

First hole definitely taking the most crossfire, but you still gotta have your head on a swivel on holes 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 for shots from No. 1 (and no. 7 if you're on 9)! Also check out getting from No. 8 green to 9 teebox, lol, have to cross middle of 6 fairway. Man, I really want to see that place, too!
