Just received a new shaft, is there any issues installation of this tip?

The Evenflow blue tip is very off centre, haven't seen a tip look like this before.

Will this give me issues? Should I just play it as is or should I be asking the builder to redo it?

That’s the design of the adapter to manipulate face angle, loft and lie. Appears to be a Tour Edge adapter. They are more pronounced than some.

This is a Mizuno tip, but it's good to know it isn't a design or install flaw.

I had the same issue with an aftermarket Mizuno fairway adapter. The hole for the shaft was drilled crooked so no way to set the shaft any way to correct it. The adapter played fine but the markings on it will be useless.

Interesting. I contacted the shaft builder and he says it's normal, but it's also kind of hard to believe since I've played Mizuno woods forever and never seen it like that. 

Will see how it goes on course.

Looks right to me. My Tour Edge adapters look the same from that one angle.

I know it's been said that all adapters work the same, but that's not exactly the case. Some work by angling the adapter in the oversized hosel of the clubhead (TM - offset tip, Callaway, Titleist - cogs and any others with cogs or a tip piece that is offset). With all of these adapters, when the shaft is rotated, they stay in line with the shaft (TM tip piece will wobble). Others work by angling the shaft in the adapter which then fits tightly in the oversized hosel of the clubhead (Cobra, Mizuno, Ping, Tour Edge and any others where the tip piece is centered). With these adapters, when the shaft is rotated, the entire adapter wobbles. Since Mizuno offers 4° of adjustment, theirs wobbles considerably.

I wasn’t clear I guess. I had the original adapter that came on the shaft and I purchased a second ‘aftermarket’ adapter to test a different shaft. When I compared them side by side, the angles were drastically different. I understand that the shaft will not be centered in a Mizuno adapter like it is in a Taylormade but the angle was extreme in the aftermarket adapter. The 2 adapters in the original post are obviously different. Beyond any tolerance.

To be honest, it could be bad adapter too. If a kid in china drilled it at the wrong angle or something...

My last batch of Tour Edge adapters I bought from ebay had one like that. Haven't used it yet but I plan on it. It should be ok.

That CAN happen with aftermarket adapters, but I have bought several Cobra and Mizuno and had no issues. In the OP's pic, the angle seems to be the same, but the top of the ferrule is different. the one on the right has a wider opening at the top where the one on the left has an off-center opening. Angle appears the same though, so they should behave the same.

Roll them together on a flat surface and you should see the wobble and get an idea of the difference
