Tell that to his 4 ex wives

Well you have named 4 people that don't like Faldo. Make that 5 including you. That's your opinion. You know what opinions are like? Everybody has one. I have met the guy a few times. He has always been nice to me. A lot of people have had domestic troubles. Woods had them. A lot of players have had them. It didn't stop them from being nice to others around them. That doesn't mean Faldo did the right thing in his personal life. I wouldn't get involved in any type of business deal with him. However I have never seen him treat a fan badly.

somewhat true

he has an awkward personality, but I remember him signing plenty of autographs between holes practising for the 93 Open for example, and since. I see a lot of similarities with Bryson, not a bad person at all but just doesnt instinctively know the right way to behave a lot of the time.

Hey Hankshank, Nick's got another one for you.  No, he really means it this time.  Honest.

Still can’t believe why that does not sell as good.  Suppose some golfers here have insights in that ad business. Click the link, 2 mins talk, the monte like 3 min video, and the link to the paysite for the premium stuff.  Why is constant babbling for ages better. In terms of cash generation?

Wouldn't that be a win-win....for America?

I don't even live in the UK anymore and am no longer exposed to Piers Morgan On TV, yet even I know he's a colossal prat.

The Queen has her hands full right now. I like her but not so sure about the rest of the bunch.

Prince Charles and Prince William were apparently pretty forceful about stripping Andrew of his titles and giving him the boot, so they've got that going for them. Which is nice.

And Prince George no longer requires nap time, so things are on the up-and-up for him.

I read on the DailyMail that Prince George looks like Harry when he was young. They even had photos. That's worrisome. lol

Ok let’s Psycho Analyze OP

I gather from the title he never was a Faldo fan.  So he’s just railing on his hate of him here.  Love the times we live in.

I have heard so many discussions about Tiger woods start the same way.  First thing they do is give a compliment, such as: “He does everything right” or “Hes won so much”.  Then there’s the big dig!: “But I’ve never liked the guy.  Not once.”

that’s the hate coming thru.  Careful with your hate.

remember if you are seething at someone or something.  That’s not healthy and not worth your time.

I'm no psychotherapist or anything of the sort, but couldn't one make the argument that your use of the word "hate" to describe anything that isn't praise suggests an issue of your own?

Just saying the old adage of pointing a finger seems to apply here, and it's become very sad that anything short of complete praise is "hate".  Snowflake generation perhaps?

No and No.  it is a description of my observation of OP’s attack on Faldo.  And the strategy employed to wage similar ones.  So that intelligent folks can recognize the gas lighting.

Btw you fall right into the “Attacking any criticism” mind set.  It really is a psychologists dream being alive these days.  The mental illness is so palatable and visible.

just an observation.

Attacking any criticism?  Gotcha.  Anyone can say anything on the internet, but I doubt I even notice your post if you make similar points but without the word hate.  I'm attacking the misuse of language.

I'm really interested to learn more.  Please begin with answering two questions I have :

1)Which university do you have your psychology Ph.D. in, and

2)Are you a CEO?

On the contrary, the reason why I clicked was that I did respect Nick Faldo. What I wrote is just the truth. I got extremely annoyed seeing that ad.

Ever since he laid the ALL-TIME Greatest Beatdown on Norman at Augusta in '96, the Man is my hero, lol. It wasn't so much that he was advertising something that got to me, though like you, it was the manner in which he participated in that ad, as it was so eloquently referred to as "clickbait," that got to me.

However, as soon as I went back in my mind and visualized Norman falling to the ground in agony, the dazed ook of hopeless despair on his face as he drug himself up 18 fairway and the fact that he states that he still has nightmares of that final round that make it difficult for him to fall back asleep, well, I looooove the Nickster and I'll address him however he'd like to be addressed and if need be, watch his bullsh*t clickbait vids, lolol

The Chap has a lifetime pass with me😜🤙

Cheers🍻

You know Men used to hug quite a lot in history.  Nowadays it obviously is frowned upon or judged.  I dunno, I grew up in the in betweens of it all.  This really looks like a beautiful moment of somebody just needing a hug!  In 100 years some guru will be teaching hugs for $1000 hour.  😆

I agree with ya 💯 on the hugs and though I didn't feel badly for Norman, as I saw his final round meltdown as more of a "the chickens have come home to roost" moment than anything else, I really was impressed with Nick's handling of that situation on 18 green as you could tell that he reeeeeeally felt badly for Norman, and I believe that I read somewhere, though you or others might know if this is the case, that Faldo actually stated that felt badly for Norman and his meltdown.

To me that was huge, as I had a few times in my career, once on a football field and once on the course, where a competitor fell flat on their face, and in the latter situation on the course, even my then GF and Mother said that they felt "horribly" for the guy, though our rivalry had gone back almost two decades and he had routinely kicked my *ss for the better part of the first 16-17 of em, letting anyone that would listen know that he was 9-0 against me in MP, though I'd turned the corner as a Player, I came on, humiliated him 9&8 in our Club Semis & never looked back.

Following that victory, other than the routine post round hand shake, I let him wallow in his misery and tears, not being the bigger man and showing any empathy or bearing in mind that really, there but by the grace of God, could've gone I. I had a lot of maturing to do.

Sir Nick really impressed me that day with that whole post-tourney scene, from the on green hug and walk-off with his arm around Norman's shoulders to his words in the cabin.

Class Act!!

Thanks for responding Brotha👊

Stay Well🍻

  • 2 weeks later...

I made the mistake of clicking this ad also...drank my first morning coffee whilst watching and waiting for a nugget.  Then the coffee did it's magic, and I made a nugget of my own.  It stank like Nick's secret power plane ad stank and I flushed them both.  I would rather watch Peter Kessler try to sell the Perfect Club 10x than watch the first 6 minutes of Nick's turd of an attempt.
