Tim,

Thank you very much for the pics and information. I'm meeting with my rep friday and your thread is making the wait much more bearable. My boss was fit a couple weeks ago in Florida and his AP2s came today. He was so pumped he could hardly breathe when he called me to tell me about them. I think the AP2s are going to be very hot!!!
I have hit and tried all the new Titleist irons and new Scotty Cameron Putters...

Pictures will be coming later tonight along with information for all products.

And you did. Absolutly great thread. Thanks for the great comparison Pics. Those AP2's are solid looking. Man o man they look good at adress. Right next to the X forged. Offset looks great topline is good and the general shape seems pleasing also. I have yet to see them in person.

This link might help answer questions about the Diamana shaft in the Titleist driver & fairway straight from MRC.
Thank you very much for the pictures and comments. I can't wait to see them in person.

What is Titleist saying about the new Diamana shaft? I wonder if it will play and feel similar to the original. Where you able to hit that shaft yet?

Hope the weather warms up for you to test them a little more!
I did not have the oportunity to hit the D1 & D2 or the 906F4.

I do know that the Diamana for Titleist in the driver is 65 grams and has a 4.3 torque rating and the fairway model is 75 grams with ( I think) the same torque.

I will try to write a more extensive review once I hit the product a bit more.

In regards to an earlier post about the Cameron putters. I have always been preferential to the Carbon Steel and LOVED the feel of the Circa 62 #7. However I really liked the feel of the Studio Select. I have tried a Circle T Newport 2 about 2 months ago and I think the retail is fairly close to the Circle T. A few differences I noticed however though was that the face on the retail feels more "Rough" then the Circle T (more precise milling?) Also the Tour model felt a bit softer to me, perception or reality I don't know?

I will say this, the studio select is definately a step in the right direction compared to the last studio series. I like the solid head and felt the weight inserts on the sole did not effect the feel of the putter at all. I was not able to try the midslant, but am really interested in that model. I will do a bit of testing on the greens tomorrow in 40 degree weather with 20-30 mph winds

G-Night for now I will post more information tomorrow when I can!
Damn Tim you should have called me today...I could have been there in 5 minutes!!
Me too! Dam, you even gave us southpaws something! Do you still have the LH Scotty up there?
What did you think of the ZB's compared to the 735's? I'm not sure there is really a significant benefit
to upgrade from the 735's to the ZB's. I agree with the others, that headcover on the Studio Select line
is the worst headcover to ever come out of the studio. I doubt you see many of those on the putters.
Don't worry Pat I still have them. You can come by tomorrow or thursday and hit them all you want!
If I drive up can I hit them too? Oh crap, I forgot, I'm backwards! Maybe I can watch someone hit them.
Great information and pics Tim, if the stuff is still up there this weekend let me know, I may drive up.

Now you went and done it! After getting a closer look side by side I am not sure if I would want to go with the ZBs or the AP2. However I do like the look of the smaller compact head on the ZBs, and I wonder what the price on the AP2s would be with DGS300 in lieu of the PX shafts. DECISIONS, DECISIONS... Thanks for the great pics though!

Ok, so with the AP2..

Im wondering if you could take that decal off the back and clean it up some?

I dont think I can get past the ugly look, but after all the positive reviews I will try them at least. 2 iron in the bag for sure.

Thoughts on taking off the logo?

Diamana for Titleist? Wow, well the Titty speeder is nothing like the 757, so that might be the case with the diamana. Maybe maybe not.

You must be a sales rep to have that mock-up of the Cobra driver!

Thanks for the top line pics. of the irons. That helped.

I'm torn between the AP2's and the Combo set (ZB's).

What is the deal with the hight toe on the new Camerons? I'll have to see that in person to see if I like that or not. They are always tweaking things that really don't need it at some times!

For those wondering about the Diamana shaft... That is the new "STOCK" Diamana offering from Titleist. Not sure if it is different than the Diamana, or what.

For both drivers and fairways in 2008.

There are some elite staff members that were fit in Florida by Titleist. Regular staff guys like me are able to order our personal sets when we see our reps in the next couple of weeks. These sets probably will NOT be shipped right away. They usually show up a week or two before the release date.

The high toe is for a better look at address. With the toe raised the head looks flatter at address. Before when it was flat it looked like the toe was running away kind of. Little things that Scotty notices and changes to make a better putter.
I would imagine the Titleist Diamana would be designed to counteract the stiffening qualities of Titleist's bore thru wood design. Perhaps with a softer tip, more torque etc.

This is pure conjecture though.
Let's put it this way. Titleist Advisory Staff looks something like this

AP1 - 10%
AP2 - 65%
ZB - 10%
ZM - 5%

The majority of the staff loved the AP2 so much they went with these. The retail price and Manufacturer required price (MRP) will be $999 w/ PX or DG. The heads cost quite a bit more to make then a standard forging with the tungsten sole and pocket cavity.

LeftiesOnly I still have the left handed Scotty and IT IS FOR SALE!!! ( I can't use it. )

For those who asked about the ZB compared to 735.CM It is a totally different animal. Smaller blade true carbon steel construction a bit less forgiving then the 735, but very clean. I would basically describe them as an ubdated 695 combo set.

With the plyability of the AP2 I cannot see many people not jumping all over this iron. Oh one other interesting side note Titleist was considering renaming this line the DCI (Oldie but Goodie) but decided against it at the last minute. I think I would have loved seeing that name again, It brings back memories from when Titleist was THE BEST iron maker in the business. I still love these irons though.
Awesome thread, thank You!How would You compare the forgiveness between the AP2's and X-Forged?It's now up to You whether i'm selling my Callys and get the AP's as soon as possible.....
I would probably say they are close, but with my limited time hitting the AP2 in freezing cold weather, I think the AP2 would win in terms of forgiveness.

Basically this is what I see in the AP2: A very traditional blade appearance with true game enhancement elements in the rubber filled pocket cavity and the tungsten sole. Because of the pocket cavity and the tungsten sole they were able to make a players profile iron with the forgiveness of the r7 TP/ X-Tour, etc. However, I really think that the workability and the overall playability (Knockdowns, shaping the ball, etc.) has not been compromised that much with the forgiveness that Titleist built into these heads.
To any and all Titleist reps monitoring these threads,

Don't forget to throw out some lefty demo AP1's and 2's to Golfsmith, Edwinwatts and your fitters, at least in the Tampa Bay area. If I show up at the big demo day in Largo, Florida in March and there are no lefty AP's there maybe trouble.
Won't be a problem. Titleist is going to the interchangable shaft fitting system with all 4 models. You should be able to get 4 different lefty heads to try with lots of different shafts. Now different lie angles that I am not sure about
Hey Tim, it is a bit gusty out there this morning...is the range downwind? LOL!!!
Not at work yet! On my way in right now, but I doubt I will be hitting anything today. 30 MPH winds...I could always see how the AP2 is at knockdown shots :ok:
get those pics watermarked!!
Doesn't bother me...I want anyone who would like to see the pictures to be able to do it. Thanks for your concern though
