There have been rear shafted putters like this before, Odyssey Backstryke for one. It won't be torque free

Oh boy I can't wait to hear Rife talking about how he invented this style of putter and everyone is just copying him.

Possibly the ugliest thing evnroll has ever put out...and that's saying something.

You are correct

So not going to lie the putter is ugly. We also all know the shaft into the back of the club head has been done before. I will say however this thing just works. For you guys at labgolf how do you think this thing comes up short in comparison to your df 2.1? I have hit a few putts with both and let’s admit they are both ugly. They also both seem to do a great job of starting the ball on line.

Traded in a number of clubs today and tried a few 7 woods.  Couldn't find one that did much for me.  So I made a big mistake and wandered over to the putter section.  And what did I behold, after trying a couple of putters that didn't impress?  An Evnroll Zero in my length.  Picked it up, knocked in a 20 footer first time.  Then hit 6 out of the next 7 at various differences.  Tried a couple of other putters, then went back.  I had to work at it to figure out the best stroke with it.  I certainly didn't keep up the early pace, but the lag putting with it was great and short putts (where my aging hands are betraying me) were solid.  Would not have paid full price for it, but with a big chunk paid for by the trade-ins, I brought it home.

It feels quite solid and the head doesn't rotate---ball goes where it's aimed.  Gets the ball to the hole more easily than the early Evnroll putters did--those were always too slow for my liking.  Will it perform the same on a real green instead of on an artificial one?  No idea.  Was it just a short spell of excellence in putting that will disappear when the games on the line?  Could be.  Will I have the courage to actually bring the big, ugly thing with an enormous grip out on a golf course with friends?  Don't know, but if the damn thing can really get my lag putts closer and helps the short putts go where they're supposed, you betcha.

I’m just going to say this, as this putter is most comparable to LAB - It’s a hell of a lot better looking than a 2.1, and arguably better quality. I’ve never been particularly impressed by the build of LAB’s stuff. You look at one of their putters the wrong way and the thing gets scratched. Stability is comparable and the form factor while still quite large, is slightly smaller than a 2.1. And finally, despite the many alignment aids available on a DF, it’s easier to line up (my opinion).

I care almost nothing about originality. Those days are long gone. I’m friends with a guy at one of the local PGA Superstores here in Scottsdale who is a total LAB honk. Won’t shut up about the damn thing. Even he admitted to me the other day that the Zero would give his 2.1 a run for its money.

Thought it was the ugliest putter I've ever seen and my buddies couldn't stop with the jokes, until they saw the results.   I had the best putting round in recent memory.  If I didn't make it, I had an ez tap in.

It rolls the ball exceptinally well.

Made 3 or 4 20 footers with it.

It has me more than extremely satisfied.

Had a chance to check on the MEZZ yet? Lot easier on the eyes.

I rolled a Mezz and the Zero today. Both seemed easy to get the ball on line and also easy to keep that stroke square. Would love to compare them side by side on a putter green to see which worked the best. Without doing that I would have to go with the Zero right now but that could change.

Zero, because of its size may feel a bit more stable but it DOES have a bit of torque like Axis 1 or Backstryke. We just released the Mezz.1Max which is more stable than both.

Reporting back after 2-3 months with a Zero.  It's the only club safe in my bag.  Three putts are very rare.   Have made far more long putts than ever before---a 20 footer today to make par.  My hands have become unreliable, but the putter is very stable both with the grip and the putter design.  I missed a short putt today but I knew instantly I had pulled it----no fault of the putter.  Guys are giving me longer gimmees just because I've become more reliable.  I know this thing ain't for everyone, but for me, it has been a big help.  Now let's see if the new Ping Chipr can help around the greens.  Damn, this getting old can suck . . .

Just watch the ball and aim the face---I never notice either the hole or the grass.  I find the face easy to align, no distractions, and the ball just goes where it's aimed.  My screwed-up hands don't screw up my putts with the Zero.

Hit this in the store every time I go in. They always seem to go in the hole. Still playing it? Never played anything like this before.

Where is the ball position supposed to be for this putter?  Do you play the ball more forward like you would with a LAB DF2.1?

Could the Zero's specific Gravity grip be placed on other putters like you can with the LAB Press grip?

I would think it could. I haven’t tried it but it seems to be applied exactly like the press grip.

To add to this thread, I have had mine in the bag since a few weeks after it came out. It is wonderful and I don’t see anything replacing it (although I have tried because it is so ugly). It feels good and it flat out performs.

At local roger dunn, my 11 yr old non-golfing son was fooling around with different putters, and I had him try er zero.

He knocked balls in hole almost every time.  I had him try it on demo putting matt with sloped hole.  He did again.  So I had to try it myself.

This putter made me a putting machine.  Very stable strokes.  Super ez setup.

This will be in bag soon.
