I thought the course was in fantastic condition - this was also opening weekend, so clearly hadnt seen play in a while. Greens ran very well. Friday we had 65 and sunny, Saturday it was in the 40s and drizzly, so the speed was all over the place, but overall I was very impressed. Keeping courses in Central Wisconsin in this good shape coming out of winter is impressive!

I booked the opening week it was available as I was driving to Bandon from Eugene’s airport. So that would have been February of this year a couple days before the Super Bowl. Still didn’t get my preferred tee times then but an hour or so later each day and I’m a single. Get on their mailing list and book at your first opportunity. It’s crazy but what you have to do, there’s just extraordinary demand.

Yeah just signed up to the email list. Pretty insane, but then again I booked big cedar for our group about 11 months out.

What have you guys experienced with pace of play at the resort?

 

I’m trying to book 36 as a single in July but availability is very limited when I’m going to be in the area. If my last round starts at 4pm do I have a realistic chance of finishing or it’s unlikely?

 

Are breakfast and lunch reservations needed or only for dinner?

I just booked for next July (24) and was very limited. Had to book a big a** suite for my wife and I because that is all they had left. I was able to get a Lido tee time though, so that is exciting. I absolutely love sand valley.

Not yet. They will open the tee sheet later this year I was told.

Anybody seen the Lido or Sedge Valley yet? Are they right by the other courses or a little ways away like Sheep at Bandon? Saw something in the newsletter about a new pool/sauna and a BBQ smokehouse restaurant being constructed?

Lido is a shuttle drive. I believe it is 15-20 min. The pool/sauna thing is kind of a rumor with no concrete info, according to the person I talked to on the phone. Would love for that to open up though, would help a lot I think.

I saw that too, and why I asked when  I called. Just going on what I was told on the phone a week ago. She said they don't have dates for any of that. I asked why it said 2024 online and she said that is hopeful as they haven't started any of it. Hopefully she was wrong.

We just got back on sunday. Construction is ongoing. I would ballpark early 2024.

Booking staff also told me that the food truck was still there.  It is not they've replaced it with a bbq tent.  I assume the same bbq that will be done at the restaurant.

I booked for Memorial Day 2024 and the lady basically promised me the pool and hot tub would be there haha

They're just winging it! lol I hope that is the case. Going next july, would be nice to relax in the pool after walking 18/36

I didn't even bring it up, she volunteered it "Oh great, our new pool room and hot tub will be open!"  I think she even mentioned something about a new restaurant?

Hopefully the restaurant and hot tub is ready early May. And Sedge Valley.

Playing sand valley next week, there two days playing 2 rounds per day. How difficult of a walk are the courses? Is there food at the turn? How about water on the course.

Yes to food. Walks are pretty easy. Some hills, but nothing awful. No real long walks. Off the top of my head the longest walk will be between 9 and 10 on Sand Valley. But there is a stop there for Tacos.

The only hole on SV and MD with water is the 9th hole on SV. And it’s not even really in play.

Played SV on a whim yesterday that coincided with a business trip. What a fun track. Got a tee time at 4p as a single with a caddy. It was pure bliss and a out of body experience walking the fairway with what felt like having a course to myself.

 

Loved the layout. Fun course. Do not miss.

 

Conditions were absolutely perfect. Course is green and in perfect shape. Kudos to the staff.

By the way.. I ordered two tacos, an ice cream sandwich, energy balls and a back of pretzels and it was $4.
