Was just there a little over a week ago. Had Gary on our bags at Mammoth, and Chad for Sand Valley. Both were great, with a slight edge to Chad.

I can tell you that if you get someone named Patrick you're going to end up with someone who is fantastic at reading greens, but he'll try and shake you down for $200 per bag per loop.

Chad is great. He double bagged for two of us and and the end of an 85 degree day he said he was going to go home and get 6 miles in (big time runner). 
 

I also enjoyed a guy named Mike from Buffalo. Great stories, super personable, very knowledgeable.

I was told 2026 bookings would open in February 2025. Advice was to make sure you're subscribed to their email as that is how folks will be notified that booking is open.

went out here last year.  i've been to some nice places - cabot cliffs, streamsong, pinehurst, etc.  and this place might be #1.  the courses are a ton of fun, really good rooms (we stayed on main level with walkout overlooking #1 at mammoth), restaurants are amazing and the vibe is just perfect.  i'll be going back 100%.

Anyone have a trip here to play them all?  I had to pass on a 8 guy trip there in June, the hard part was done, which was one guy had booked the tee times on one of their packages including The Lido. Pricey of course, but such is the destination resorts now.

I am shocked how much more busy they are this year than the last few years. 
 

I visit some family mid July in the general area and usually plan a day to drive over and play 36. I do it midweek, as a single, and have 3-4 days open so I just pick the day that works best tee time wise. This year the availability is essentially nil. I can find a single time between 11-1 but nothing that works for 36. Much different experience booking as a single than the last few years. 
 

It’s not during the SV cup or any sort of Wisconsin event either. I’ll continue checking for cancellations but was very surprised by the lack of availability on the tee sheet.

I booked for Memorial day to play 36 (Sedge & Mammoth) last week and had no problems getting times as a single. 

 

Actually took a look at the website and was shocked to see several tee times at Sedge Valley (all foursomes) opened up for the same day, which is surprising since it's a holiday and also the off season rates.  Some opened up on the other courses as well.

I booked a trip for me and a buddy summer 2026. zero lodging available for us on any weekends which was a bummer. We get in on a Sunday and leave Wednesday. Playing all the courses though, except for the commons which wasn’t available for booking at the time.

Assume you were not able to book Lido either since you aren't in their lodging.

sorry, i wasn't very clear. we were able to stay on site so we in turn we will get to play the Lido. honestly more excited for Sedge

What do you want to know? I just got back from my sixth annual trip two weeks ago.

Gimme the scoop! How were conditions? What did you play?

 

How are the restaurants, and where to hang post round etc?

Courses are great. Conditions are firm and fast. Fescue fairways are a dream but don’t expect lush conditions anywhere. That’s not what they go for. (Played mid July the last 2 years.) 
 

Craig’s porch is great for something quick between rounds. I have enjoyed sitting on the patio behind mammoth bar. Haven’t tried the other restaurants. 
 

My course rankings are

1a Sedge Valley. I love the risk reward or 4s and the variety of holes. Good set of varied par 3s. 

1b Sand Valley. Just really solid all around. Enjoyed the routing and walk a ton. 

3 Mammoth. It has alot of fun shots but after playing it a second time I felt like it was clearly a lesser golf course than the others. The risk reward par 4s don’t pose enough risk. Felt a bit like bowling with bumpers at times. Too many bad shots getting good results for it to be something I would want no play frequently. 
 

Didn’t play lido. 
 

The shuttles to get you around are timely and always available. The entire resort is a first rate operation.
