Uneekor EYE Mini

I was finally able to take my EYE Mini to my local shop that fits using Trackman 4. I know that the Trackman and EYE Mini can potentially interfere with each other, however, the ball data was spot on with Trackman. Ball speed was within 1 mph, and distance as within 1-2 yards on decent strikes. The spin was relatively close. Right now the EYE Mini has some side spin issues, but the ball data seemed to check out. Mind you, I did not have club stickers on my irons so I did not compare club data at all.

I have been pretty happy with mine so far. Took it over to a friends that has GCQuad and the numbers were very similar. Just a 1-2 yards short everytime. Spin was close on most shots.

Have you guys seen the EYE Mini Lite? I wonder how it compares? I know it needs plugged in and is more of a stay-home unit. $2499 this week.

From everything we can tell, it compares to be the same.

 

You're missing a battery and the screen to tell you your data on the device.

 

If you have a stationary setup, it's like free money.

I did a custom g-view upgrade for my hitting area. Center blank section is size of hitting area. below is link on how to video  just added a cheap $50 projector

I was ready to pre order the Eye Mini Lite but then I watched this. If true its definitely a deal breaker. Would like to hear from people that have first hand experience with the Eye Mini before I lay down the cash.

As the guy says in his comments, the prior firmware 2.2.8 was fine with this. I would expect a fix soon, but it's a lesson to anyone to not jump on firmware updates. There's no reason if it's working well to be an early adopter. :)

Someone posted on discord that new firmware is in Beta and has this fixed. Going to try over the weekend

Do you have an Eye Mini with spin axis issues? If so please update this thread if it is fixed through firmware. I am ready to order a lite if this gets sorted out.

Honestly, just buy it, leave it on 2.2.8 firmware until you find out the next firmware is better. It's just software, and doesn't have to do with the unit.

I want to get a Uneekor Eye Mini, but am having trouble understanding the software/hardware requirements.  I do not have a gaming PC, in fact I don’t even own a Windows PC.  I have a MacBook and an iPad Pro.  I don’t have any interest in playing SIM golf at the moment.  I am only interested in using the range / practice software.  i understand that the Uneekor Eye Mini software does pretty well on iPad for range practice only.  But is a PC needed to set the Uneekor up as a starting point over Wi-Fi, etc.?  I’d like to understand if I can use the Uneekor even if I don’t own a Windows PC.

I would ask uneekor to be safe. I don't think you have to have a pc but the eyemini does have to be connected to the internet by lan is reccommend at first then you must connect every few months. Again I would ask uneekor to be certain.

You do not need a Windows PC. I did everything with an iPad. There were some connection issues at first, but that's sorted now.

 

Also, if you're not too concerned about sim stuff, you can run a virtual PC on your MacBook, and that also should work. I have an older MBP, and I decided to BootCamp it and it runs off that for now.

 

Still check with them. Who knows if anything's different.

Checked with Uneekor and confirmed I can set it all up and use with than iPad, not needing a windows pc.  Thanks all for the replies.

I kind of like the BLP+Club Data better due to the smaller size and $1k lower entry price even though over 5 years it would cost more.

 

I’m mainly buying to work on my swing. I hit the ball fat more often than not. Would the Eye Mini club impact view be necessary or could data from the BLP help me with this too?

 

Could I connect two USB cameras (behind/side views) to BLP like on the Eye Mini?

 

I feel like the difference may come down to whether the Foresight or Uneekor View is best for working on my swing.

In my opinion uneekor software is better than the foresight but most people that do video for swing work with foresight use other software like Kinovea for swing cameras. BLP with club data would be better for club data although don’t think you get much more data it’s just more accurate from my experience with my Eyemini. View is really pretty good for swing video although they want you to purchase their swing optics cameras.

Has anyone seen the lifetime costs drop at any time? I'm really bothered that you don't get the 3rd party connection for the Refine option. They'll give it to you in the $199/year thing, but you have to get the $2000 in lifetime to get the connection.

I would think you could use a VPN to accomplish this but haven't needed to test it.

A user on reddit told me that chances are that when you connect to the internet without the VPN, it might be locked from then on. If true, the consequence of the risk is very high.

I understood they'll unlock the geo lock for $$$.

 

I had the chance to buy mine in the US, but didn't when they scared me with geo locks. Then they ship me the one I bought from Aussie, and the about screen says it's the "US" version.

 

So I'm not sure what's true anymore.

Anyone know anything about face angle/face-to-path? How are users doing without these numbers? is club path and ball flight enough? Might face angle be something that's added later?

I'm hoping they might add face angle at some point, but I'm having doubts at this point.

 

When they initially announced the Eye Mini, face angle and face to path were both listed as available data points. Then Uneekor botched the release and it took ~6 months (if my memory is correct) to finally get it released. My initial thought was that they didn't include it in the release because they were under pressure to get it out into the market ASAP. But who knows?

 

I do think that the extra price for the Eye Mini as opposed to the Lite could warrant the eye mini getting face angle. So I can hope!
