Lower Cost Golf Grips

I posted a wtb for some grips and had many many offers of some fresh pulls or new for very good prices. You might try that.

Karma TV is pretty good imo. Wipe down after rounds and they should hold up all season. I'm thinking about giving their cords a try this year.

Golfworks has these on special, multiple times per year.  I have found them to work quite well.  At this price you can change them every couple of months.

Agree. I bought a set of irons a few years back that had the Karma TV style grips on them. Felt better than I thought and were fairly tacky. That's the thing about most grips is many people never clean grips to get the tackiness back. They assume the grips are just wearing out. My brother is one of those people.

Would be excited to get a used set of clubs with cheapo grips?  Or is it more likely that you would say "what a cheapWord not allowed" and bid less for them.  Even if you were gonna switch them anyway.

Word has it the guy who does Pure worked for Star, left the company and uses the same formula. Star only does black. The midsize channel wrap is awesome.

The putter grip is underrated IMO, too.

I just returned some of the Saplize to amazon.  The butt of the grips had a shoulder and wouldn't seat all the way on the shaft.  Also they were not round in the cord section.  The seam was in a different line on each one.  You get what you pay for.

I just picked these up on Amazon last week and installed them this weekend.

 

Aside from some minor paint smudges on the back of some of the grips, they look and feel great, and installed like a charm with both tape/solution and no tape/airgun.

I have had them on my clubs now for a month or two and had them out for a few lessons.  Put them on with an air gun and painters tape and the grips haven't slid or moved at all.  Feel like a GP tour velvet but the butt end is a little different.  Also they are shorter than the golf pride by about 0.5-1 inch.

 

We will see how they hold up after a full seasons use

Every once in a while Lamkin will have a clearance sale. I have picked up UTx midsize for like $3 each from them. Just buy a stack and keep them handy.

 

I've also found clearance grips at Dick's before. I paid $5 for some Golf Pride Midsize TV before. Just look for deals and stock up when its cheap.

 

Several years ago I bought a box of GP NDMCs, like 100 of them. I had them for several seasons. Worked out to be less than $4 per midsize grip.

I got the Champkey X midsize with the regrip kit. 48 total. Have played 2 rounds and loving them so far. I only play 2 times a month and everyone will talk about their durability but I guess depending on frequency of play that will impact it. I just am sure to clean my grips every time after my round. The size is perfect and they feel tacky. Most importantly there is no smell which I know most people assume with Amazon grips. 

Champkey is the go to golf grip brand for Amazon. All of their grips have great reviews. These are their version of the Golf Pride ZCord. I'm a happy customer definitely recommend them.

Yes they are seconds or counterfeit in my opinion, but I just ordered a set and it was ten days. Overall they will be ok.

They are fake, but pretty good fake for the price..

 

You can get it through aliexpress with free shipping..  It generally cost around $2 per grip..

Just ordered 50 of the Karma Velour. On sale at Rock Bottom for $1.77 vs $7.49 for my usual Tour Velvet. Will update once I install them.

Buy a decent quality set of grips and save money by learning to put them on yourself. Grips are relatively cheap component of the golf club but dramatically important to maximizing your potential. 
 

The Chinese fake Iomics are garbage compared to the real ones. They are not even made out of elastomer, they are a cheap stinky rubber compound. I play about 150 rounds per year and easily get 2 years out of my Iomics purchased direct from Iomic USA.  I put a set of the fakes on for a buddy that got some on EBay and they lasted about 2 months, and he hated them from day one because they have a lot more torque than the real ones.

 

Golfworks deals on decent golf grips are a good way to go, particularly when they have the Lamkin deals.

 

Star grips, especially the sidewinder, are a very good quality cheaper price point grip. And you can find colors, red white blue in addition to black on EBay store.

Be careful of buying anything Golf Pride on EBay from anyone that is not a registered super seller with excellent feedback. Ton of Chinese fakes.

Responding to my own post with egg on face. 😬

 

These grips are thin and undersized.  They weigh 45 grams.  The rubber feels great, they just don't have enough of it. 

 

Edit: going to return these and get the midsize Karma Velour grips instead.  They are a small midsize, more like a fat regular at 55 grams.  $23.75 for 13 grips.  Still plenty cheap.

I looked at those after you sent the link originally. I didn't go with them specifically because of the 45 gram thing. Don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely love a grip that lightweight, but I thought it was unlikely that a standard size grip could come in that low. Something just wasn't adding up.

Budget friendly grips; Royal from golfworks is worth a look. 
 

if you have a Swing Science account, their grips are priced nice as well. Just a bit undersized but 2 wraps of tape will take care of that.

Yes the OS are 1/16 so same/similar as Lamkin mid.
