New Fourteen blades

This is fascinating. Based on that chart it looks like it’s a set of blades that shares the same weighting DNA as the RM-4 wedges, but with a 42 degree pw. Look so clean though.

I guess this works out well for fourteen Bc you could gap it right into their wedges, as they make a 46 degree rm-4, so someone could either buy 4 of their wedges and maybe not play the “4” iron, or keep the “4”and maybe go to 48 after the “pw”, who knows

that said, for a set of blades, maybe they should have just labeled this as 3-9…

That's exactly what they are. If I were to buy I'd get 46* RM wedge too. I love 0.1mm face progression between each irons.

Here's some official photos. At current exchange rates it's $2k for 4-P. They're made in China though and I know some will be bothered by it. But it's S20C steel, one piece forging. Not sure it matters where it's made?

Looks different. I have a set of Jbeam T801 irons with a 42° PW and it forced another wedge in my bag. 2k is a healthy amount for Fourteen. Since they're being manufactured in China, they will be there n AliExpress shortly at an ⅛ the cost

You know these are not hand made, right?

It doesn't matter. It's about the process.

Do you think they just throw a block of metal in a machine and wait for a finished club to come out the other end?

My clubs were Endo-forged in Japan.

The specs were checked after I purchased them.

Every single one was dead on.

Try getting that with made in China or made in the USA anything.

If you don't think it matters, then just buy Chinese knockoffs...

Wow, great argument. I should just buy chinese knockoffs because they are the same thing as these new blades 🤨

Apparently you have no idea how clubs are made 😆 because that's exactly what happens. Block of metal just goes through different forging dies until it looks like a club. Final grinding/polishing is done by workers. Just go on youtube and search how forged clubs are made, or keep believing that your clubs have magic fairy dust sprinkled on them while they were made.

Not fairy dust. But I prefer that my clubs be made by craftsman who work for legitimate companies who are not Chinese slaves.

But to each his own...

They look amazing. I wonder what the US cost will be and if you can bend them 4* weak. I really like my RM-4 sandwedge.

Just get a 46* RM-4?

I don't think you can bend them that much, and even if you could would you want 11* of bounce in your PW?

With S20C steel, I'd say 4* is doable, but as you pointed out, it would noticeably affect other playing characteristics of the club.

I've bent clubs 4* (Mizuno irons), but that was to get a set I'd purchased second hand back to the original lofts, or close to them. They came with severely strengthened lofts and therefore appeared to have tons of offset at address.

As for these blades, they look great, but a) that's a lot of money, and b) they're a set designed to sell lots of Fourteen wedges...which are not cheap either.

Realistically, though, I'd only need the 6i to the PW as after a  26* iron I go to my 23* hybrid.

If a company specifies plus minus 1 for loft and lie and 2g for weight does it matter if Chinese company throw more out than the japanese co?

Really? A company can specify anything they want. That doesn't mean they achieve those specifications. It's about both the manufacturing of the product and quality control every step of the way.

If you would pick an expensive, forged club made in China over one made in Japan, please...be my guest.

Setting aside my desire to not enrich any Chinese companies, I have been a consumer of commercial goods for fifty years. I will take a Japanese product any day of the week.

Maybe my attitude comes from having lived in Tokyo and being immersed in Japanese culture. They are obsessive about quality and the desire to do the best possible job, whether it's making gold clubs, driving a bus, or scrubbing toilets. The Japanese work ethic is unlike anything I've see in my world travels...

So you're saying Japanese are obsessed about quality and their work. If the heads are forged in Japan, then it's a best golf club ever. But when the same company decides to forge in China, then they no longer care about making a great quality product even though they still put their name on it? That makes sense lol

It depends on the company. I've read many stories of people having their clubs checked and getting specs all over the place. My Japanese cavity backs were checked when I did a wedge fitting and they were perfect. I expected them to be perfect because I purchased them in Tokyo.

You've read many stories? Dude I'm sorry but that's just hearsay and bs. How do you know that whoever checked the specs even knew what they were doing? Could have been some joe schmo at Dick's Sporting Goods.

China makes a lot of crappy stuff, but bunching Fourteen irons with it is not right. Especially if you've never bought their clubs and have first hand experience lol

I, for one, have a set of Fourteen CB forged out of S25C in China and they are as good as anything else I've hit and they were all in spec 🤨

I almost bought Fourteens instead of the clubs I have now, and wish I could have afforded two sets.

I have nothing against Fourteen...but I do have a freely admitted bias against Chinese-made products.

They are impossible to avoid in the modern world, but I do what I can.

Go in peace my son...
