Belmont CC in ashburn, VA

Anyone a member there? Looking to possibly join. How’s your experience been? How hard is it to get tee times, specifically on weekend mornings?

I'm not a member at Belmont but I've been there 4-5 times in the past two years since it became part of Club Corp. I'm a member of a sister course in Maryland.  Its a nice Arnold Palmer layout that threads entirely through a housing community but the homes don't really come into play.  Huge practice facility. Clubhouse and dining are nice.  If you do join remember as a part of Club Corp you can play any other member course for only a cart fee. That includes River Creek in Leesburg and Piedmont CC and Dominion Valley (both in Haymarket).  DV is also a Palmer layout. Don't know about Piedmont.  I've played all of them since I'm retired and travel quite a bit.

I'm a Belmont CC member and play 2-3 times a week. Like any other golf course, it's challenging to get weekend AM tee times. Most members have 2 week booking privileges and often have to jockey to get weekend times since there are those that have 3 weeks (grandfathered or pay more $$). I will say that the pro shop works really hard to get members out at preferred times. The reality is that COVID has just made the course that much more busier (went from 19K to close to 39K in annual rounds). As for Club Corp, there are different tiers. You can't play River Creek for only the cart fee (there is an upcharge since RC is in a higher tier). The other courses in NoVA (Dominion and Piedmont), you can play. As for membership/culture, it's a great group and a nice mix of newer members with young families. Plenty of events and a decent MGA as well.

River Creek is considered higher tier than Belmont?  I personally prefer Belmont.  My wife and I played River Creek two years ago and were only charged cart fee.  Perhaps pricing has changed due to Covid.  As for annual rounds my Club (Norbeck) has been very busy during all Covid.  Everyone working from home in the evening and golfing during the day?  ☹️

I heard this as I am a member at another club in the area, so it may not be completely accurate.  My understanding is that ClubCorp wanted to make River Creek something of a "premier" course in the area, maybe a couple of years back.  It definitely has a great location right on the Potomac River, lovely views from the clubhouse.  Dues were raised significantly, and our club got a few members from the members that chose to leave rather than to pay the increased dues.  I've more recently heard that they've reversed that decision, at least partially, but when @Ubi Par suggests that RC is on a different "tier" as compared to Belmont, it definitely rings as accurate.

I just played Belmont on Saturday, part of the local inter-club league.  The course is in excellent shape for this time of year, recovering nicely from aerification on the greens, fairways looking very good.

Agree.  Belmont is a much nicer golf course than river creek. If I lived out that way I would join Belmont.

Awful place.  They are racist and the course is in such bad shape.  I would have everyone hide and run from this place unless you want to get profiled.  These guys are terrible!!!!
