Swing 2022

MK7Golf21

Recommended Posts

Here is my swing from yesterday, haven’t really been able to hit balls or anything since last year due to weather but trying to get ready for the season. Plan on taking some lessons soon, just need to decide on who to take some lessons from. Open to any suggestions from those that had good results, thanks!

Looks like you are pretty close to the pattern of a lot of Dan’s students.

You get a bit flat in the takeaway then steepen late in your backswing and them shallow nicely in the downswing.

A little keeping the club more in front of your hands in the intial takeaway thru p4 wouldn’t be a bad thing for you.

thanks, yea always in beginning of season I can take it inside a little on some swings if I don't focus on a little more wrist c0ck. Easy fix for me though.

1st still-immediately past impact

Lower torso “ stuck in cement “with little trail leg bend and excessive kyphosis ( rounded shoulders resulting in a rounding in your upper back) ,  left toe excessively up in the air  - trail foot on the ground with weight favoring your trail heel

Compare  your impact position to that of Justin Thomas - open torso , bent trail leg , trail foot coming off of the ground towards the toe , no unusual kyphosis

2nd still

Suggestions

1 . setup

Notice the angle of Rory’s right thigh at address .3rdstill

For you to achieve a similar position just move your butt back ( away from the target line ) a little .

2.Takeaway -your takeaway is decent but you need to move your hands straight back for LONGER

3. Backswing -you are limiting the amount of pelvis “rotation” going back- to correct this , just let your trail leg straighten a little so that the right side of your pelvis moves farther away from the target line . Your trail leg should never be completely straight at the top, but you should lose some of the brace of the right leg going back

Your ability to “rotate “your pelvis is dictated by the range of motion of both hips and by the position of your hip sockets at impact

Suggestions

1. make sure that your right foot is perpendicular to the target line

2. flare out your front foot 1/4 turn towards the target-

Together these two simple foot positions will encourage a greater range of external left hip rotation going down.

3. Open your stance slightly via pulling your lead foot 1-1.5 inches away from the target lines. This will preset your left hip socket away from the target line at setup.

DRILL

Freezers starting from 8:00 and then 8:30. Bring the club back to 8:00 and stop for a couple of seconds ; then focus ONLY on torso rotation  thru to your finish  to hit the ball

Can you post a swing of yours and show me? I think it would help me more.

The swings of the best players in the world are obviously much better models than ANYONE who posts  on Golfwrx .
Your indoor  swing has decayed from last spring . Compare your two impact positions

it’s the same swing. I’m just hitting shots outside and watching ball flight.

Can you post your swing just so I can see who is trying to help me? I normally know an instructors credentials before I take their advice.

And btw, I never asked for swing advice if you read the OP for this very reason. In every swing that is posted you write this huge analysis like you are some expert instructor. It’s like the guy walking up and down the range trying to tell people how to swing.

Bonne chance

Love that you called him out.   Without much to back up what he's saying,  he's without a doubt that guy on the range.   Based on his use of the word freezers, I'm guessing his schooling has come from watching Gankas YouTube videos.

I was starting to think I was the only one that noticed the incessant commenting on peoples swings with piles photos of PGA players.  Might as well just superimpose everyone with 2002 Tiger Woods and say “See, if you could just get everything to look just like this guy  maybe you would be qualified to actually play.”   Thanks chief, got it.

Looks like you’d do good with a MORAD-type guy or a Scott Cowx-certified guy.  The way your trail arm works in the backswing, you’d probably benefit from what Cowx teaches as the “#crunderloadpattern” or constant radius pattern, radial locks, etc.  If you have Instagram, search that hashtag.

  • 1 month later...

Took a face on video while at a friends house yesterday, don't think I've ever posted a face on. Anyway, plan to take some lessons soon hopefully before I start playing. *** Please no long write ups by wrx experts, not really what this is for. Although, wouldn't mind something from instructors.

So you posted your swing and titled the thread swing 2022 why exactly?

just to share it, personally I wouldn't mind seeing more peoples swings on the forum that are contributors. People give advice all the time but never post a swing.

Plus, I was looking for instructor recommendations as well and who people had good experiences with.

Why are you posting your swing on an instruction forum if you aren’t looking for people to critique it.

I've been around long enough to know that getting 10 different tips from people who can't break 80 half the time isn't the best use of my time. Maybe I should include the instructor I'm working with but I haven't worked with one in years. I might get some lessons this spring, again wouldn't mind suggestions.

So you are looking for critiques or not?  If not, then why didn't you just ask for instructor suggestions?

Thought I answered you already? I’m pretty active on the forum, it’s nice to put a swing to a user I think, little more personable. There is no rule for the instruction forum that says if you are posting a swing that you are looking for help from everyone. People put their swings on Instagram etc. doesn’t mean they are looking for everyday golfers to comment on how to fix their swing.

People can give analysis if they want but I’m being up front in that I’m not going to pay much attention to what they say unless I personally know they are someone to listen to like an instructor. If you have anymore questions on this feel free to send me a pm.
