Cleveland Golf New Irons Wait Time (no wait) !

I inquired with Cleveland Golf (Canada) as to the anticipated wait times for a custom order of irons as I am leaving on an Arizona golf trip in April. They responded that the wait time would be in the order of 3 weeks to a month for a custom order - 6-PW/WINN grips. I placed the order last Tuesday and they were delivered TODAY (9 days) !  Clubs are exactly as ordered - XL Halo with XP 90 R shafts.

If it wasn't 100 below with 10 feet of snow here in Alberta I would head out to the range and hit 'em today !

It's far better to promise delivery in a month and actually deliver in nine days than the other way around. 😏

I thought it would take longer. 
 

They are probably shovels, they probably won’t hit the timeline. But the OP is stoked about buying new sticks.

I'm not offended in any way - I don't think anyone is "calmed up" !

They definitely are shovels - that is why I bought them ! Although I'm not so sure they will do a very good job clearing my driveway.

I've been having iron issues recently and bought a set of XL Halos on a whim.

 

So far I hit then high, long enough and straight. They are easier to shape than my PXGs too.

 

Dunno if I'll stick with them (although I probably should) but they work.

That's kool.  Would you like me to look back on some of your past opinions on things while having no relevant experience or ability with said product?  I know they are there as I was going to comment before on things...

Not a thing wrong with Cleveland irons. Maybe he’s a senior golfer who needs the help offered of the irons he’s ordered. Might even spank a few folks with them on the upcoming golf trip as well. Hit ‘em straight and enjoy them!  @oiler45

I loved Cleveland irons, 588P, 588CB, Ta7 Tours etc, I know that Srixon is their flagship iron product, so they would never do this, but if they came out with a Cast Players cavity it would be on my short list to try.

Thanks for the replies all. Again - I don't take exception with any of the comments. I am a senior golfer (64) who still plays to a 9-12 hcp. I hit my woods and hybrids very well (for my hcp) but irons have never been my strong suit. I sold my beloved Mizuno JPX 919 HM Pro's to try a totally different type of iron to see if I'll like them. If they work - great, if not I'll sell them and buy something else. I'm retired with nothing but time on my hands. I'm looking forward to getting ribbed on my trip ("You can't hit irons like that") but hopefully I'll take a few shillings off my buddies !

And to answer Milfordlefty - WINN Dri-Tac Midsize - my favorite grip, and I've tried them all.

FYI, I played TA3, CG1 Tours and 588CBs (probably the best irons I ever played). 
 

Maybe we should remember that brands evolve over time, remember Adams Golf (RIP).

That's actually XXIO, at least where price is concerned. There's shared technology throughout the Sumitomo brands, XXIO, Srixon and Cleveland. Each brand has its niche market.

I always get a kick out of "gear snob" talk, or this brand is better than that. I'm an engineer and worked with steel and other materials in process piping for years. Golf clubs are essentially a chunk of metal glued onto a metal or graphite stick. Most major brands use the same shafts and most heads are sourced out of a handful of foundries in Asian countries. If people really knew the actual differences between golf clubs by brand ...
