Swing Catalyst Home (w/ GC Quad)

Hey Folks,

 

Does anyone here use Swing Catalyst (video specifically) for personal use?  If so what camera(s) are you using?

 

The last time I took a lesson, I noticed that Swing Catalyst automatically captured and replayed my shots which was fantastic.  I'd happily pay the $200 yr. to be able to review my swing from multiple angles without having to leave the mat or drop the club - but the camera requirement adds quite a bit of cost.

 

Any suggestions?

If you are dropping the money for a GCQuad then the extra $1,500.00-$2,000.00 is well worth it to be able to review your swing. I am not sure what cameras would be worth it to you but I will attach some links below. What I also know is the FSX 2020 software comes with the ability to review your swing so you don't necessarily need Swing Catalyst.

Remember that cameras are kind of hard to get right now because of the supply chain issues. I hope this helps.

Also you will need really good lighting in order to achieve high picture quality with high frame rate slo-mo video.

The thing I like about Swing Catalyst is the instant replay and being able to view 2 angles at once.  Right now I use an iPhone and the editing each clip to avoid choppiness is a time suck.  That, and I'll make changes DTL, but when I go to face on - suddenly I don't love the look.  

 

Unfortunately I don't think PPoE (is that right?) cameras are an option as I went with a gaming laptop.  I'm also in an odd place as my GC Quad died in under a week - and Foresight can't commit as to when they'll get me a new one (see my other post).  

 

Given the recent market moves and fact that I'm out $18k with nothing to show for it - I've kinda cooled on spending on cameras.  😕

Bumping this to see if anyone has a dual camera set-up running and if GC Quad/Foresight is the only option. My neighbor has both the GC Quad and the Flightscope X3. Has cameras but no idea how to use them.

Another software option is Onform, which is a golf coach software platform that can take multiple camera iOS shots and has auto capture.   I've not tried, but improving Frame per Second rates on i-phones.....while not at the level of some of the FLIR cameras, at least makes it useable and easy to set up.

 

Another software option is Kinovea, which is freeware, that can be used with FLIR cameras.
