Shouldn't be any additional fee for clearance/duty. All PING clubs shipped from Phoenix to Canada don't have that. I guess it's probably built into the contract PING Canada has with FedEx, UPS, etc.

Good to know, I'd assume there wasn't it's more FedEx holding the package for an extra few days.

Well, my virtual session has been booked with Alex for later this month! Very excited - will keep the thread updated with my personal process as many others have, especially being someone who has a pretty solid idea of my exact build beforehand. Hopefully will have my specs confirmed, manufactured, and putter in hand before it warms up in Tennessee and the courses start showing some green!

Well my PLD arrived and.....it's not what I ordered. I'm pretty upset to be honest right now, was supposed to be a birthday gift to myself and it's not. 

 

I emailed the PLD Canada rep but I doubt I'll hear anything from him until Monday. 

 

Head shape is wrong, paint is wrong, I didn't get a spec sheet either so I don't know if anything else is wrong.

That is a huge bummer. Hopefully PING goes above and beyond to make it right somehow. How is the head shape wrong? Not something that was noticeable in the progress pics? Weird no spec sheet either as it seems like everyone has had that spec tag on theirs.

Definitely, I know it's still winter for me so plenty of time to fix it, just have to wait another however long for it but I wanted to roll it for a while.

 

So I was fit into an Anser head with a 4 neck, hence the Anser 4K name. What I got was a regular Anser 4 head.

 

As for progress pics I only got sole pics so didn't see the rest of the head, if I did I would have thrown up alarm bells ASAP.

 

The paint is also all wrong as well, they got the maple leaf on the bottom correct and the Pingman.

 

The lack of spec sheet is odd as well, I'll check the box again.

 

The last thing is I'm not sure what headcovers are being given now but I just got a basic PLD Tour Topo cover you can buy online.

For the price you paid, and this "tour level" experience, you really deserve more there. Obviously the head isnt what you ordered, but the little things that are missing are inexcusable imo. Each should come with a PLD Headcover custom to the program. No specs sheet? Should you have to go check yourself? 

 

Regardless, I'm sure they will make it right, but it's very annoying. Premium price should equal premium experience.

I agreed but can't complain about getting a response at 7pm on a Friday night from the Ping PLD rep is a good sign. Plus he said they'll make it right which I'm sure, no reason for them to lose a potential customer and others over this.

 

Will see how they make it right, maybe I'll end up with 2 putters or have a G430 LST driver find its way into the next box lol. But nothing I can do for now just have to wait it out, just glad I wasn't going anywhere with this putter or it being golf season.

It is but glad they stand behind their product and I'm sure it will come out right in the end.

 

The wait part will see even if it takes another 8-10 weeks it still won't be golf season for me. But if I can keep and roll this until the new one comes that wouldn't be bad I can at least practice with this setup hoping it's right with specs.

But in that situation though, I'd rather have them take their time and do it right rather than rush job it

I know that doesn't make it any better, and it sucks, but you'll get sorted for sure.

Exactly if I got an update pics of the head before Christmas vs just the sole I would have pointed it out right then and there but all hindsight now. 

 

I'm not too worried at least not radio silence like you've heard with some other makers before. Already have the ball rolling on this.

I'm thinking a custom 1 of 1 single-prong ball mark repair tool might help ease the wait.  Don't be shy about suggesting it to them.  😃

I’m just putting this together now but you literally have “Anser 4K” engraved on the sole and they didn’t give you an Anser 4K. That’s a pretty massive oversight. 🤦‍♂️

Could add that, the compensation wish list might go as followed: 

 

- Keep this and the proper one cause this already has been milled and engraved. Not like they can do anything with it, except have it be a PLD Fitting putter. 

 

- A G430 LST driver cause Ping needs to get up those weekend warrior driver count numbers. 

 

- A flight to Phoenix to pick up the putter. 

 

- A tour rep job for putters 😂 

 

and if anyone things im serious about these im not just kidding around. Maybe the first one cause its done and the last cause I have a sickness.

Exactly that's why I didn't really think anything of it when I got the update pics, you'd think they know their own models or just didn't think anything of it cause Pings naming is confusing and over lapping at times.

Sorry to hear - especially after reading through the rest of the thread. They'll no doubt make things right, but I will definitely be requesting the WRX black cover with my putter as well as multiple pictures whenever they update me haha. If i'm shelling out $1500, it's going to be 100% what I want that's for sure. Looking forward to updates. I'm sure yours will get rushed within two weeks or so.

Yeah I'm not too worried about it being fixed I'm sure they'll make it right.

Yes USD, Canada program has it's own price. Mine is different cause I did a fit in the US and bought in Canada.

Everything else aside I still rolled this for like 30min today in my basement cause it's been a few weeks since I've rolled anything and I'm not gonna not roll a few balls. 

 

After I got rid of the rust and remembered my setup queues the ball started rolling great. Definitely see the help from more loft with my delivery and also the flatter lie the putter sits much better. 

 

Feel wise I basically got a smooth face the AMP milling is basically for show on mine. It's crispy, responsive with plenty of feedback. I love that all around on the course and it does sound softer outside vs inside.

 

Truth be told the Anser 4 would have been my choice if the Anser 4K didn't exist or wasn't an option for me. But just something about a Tri-Sole Anser shape with a flow neck gets the juices flowing. 

 

So I'm sure the specs were correct for me and when everything is settled and the grass is green again I'll have a flatstick out there I'm more than confident in.

 

I'll update everyone with Ping's resolution once I get word of what's going on.

With that conversion rate, you better be getting a nice package from PING. 

I would be pretty upset if I paid almost 2k for a putter and they mess it up that bad.
