Loving my 2021 5.5 but that 7.5 is tempting. If only I didn’t have a set of SM9s and a mytp Soto coming…

Put in an order with my club for the 7.5 yesterday. They said it won't ship out until May 31st. This seems a little long, has anyone else ordered yet and experienced something similar?

Did Titleist stiffen the shafts for this year’s Phantoms?  The shafts felt very whippy last year, to the point that it was hard to square the club face with a toe hang putter, something I haven’t experienced before in a putter.

What were the specifics of your order? If it was anything custom (loft/lie/length/headweight) then that probably explains it. I've confirmed with several of my local shops that they'll have the stock versions ahead of the 15th and ready to sell on the release date, but anything ordered now that has to be built in factory is likely going to have major delays.

I just asked for a 34" model. If that's causing the 2 month delay....

Playing the 5.5 now. Rolled the 7.5 yesterday. Wanted to buy that badly.

The shop i preordered the 5.5 just emailed me saying the putter is delayed to late july!

It would really surprise it would only be the shop i bought it from. If that is the case, i will order it from somewhere else.

I’m glad I got the USA milled version without the massive X in the sole.  Gaming it tomorrow

Someone did comment there’s no milled in USA in the 2022 Phantom line. You think there’s more to the story?

It’s a cosmetic change. The putters are still milled in the USA.

I ordered a lefty 5.5 on April 6th. Got an email yesterday, stating ETA is August 😞😮

I contacted FairwayGolfUSA on sunday to see there ETA. They messaged e back today, they supposedly getting them late June. A little better but still not ideal.

Local Edwin watts this past weekend said they were for sale, they had a few models on the floor (7.5, 5.5, 9). Only prob was that the trade in value for my X11 was only $200, and I just couldn’t justify that…

I haven't gotten any update for my pre order, would have thought that I would have something by now if it was to arrive by Friday, which does not seem to be the case.

 

I did call around and some stores already have on hand as described, "a huge box of them, but we can't open them yet, but we have a bunch".

 

I would just check around locally on opening day.

 

I've taken Friday off to run around and find what I need if I don't get my pre order.

Million dollar question for me... is the claw on the 7 the correct size to easily lift the golf ball?

 

I have a 2019 X5 (the 7 that year was some weird flat thing), and the back claw is too narrow to lift the ball. One of those things I never knew I needed until it was gone!

Major outlets have them now but can't put them out for sale until Friday. I begged several and they told me no. I did get to see them. I hate the grip and headcover but will swap them out. Wondering if there is really any difference from last years' model except for the sole graphics??

If it was only a headcover and sole graphics for the 7.5 I would just get the previous model but unfortunately it’s not. The headcover I could totally careless about but I was really disappointed with the way the grip looks because I love the way it feels and I like to keep my Scotty stuff “all Scotty.” I know to each their own and whatever helps them score better but seeing Super Strokes on Scotty’s is terrible looking to me. Wish they would’ve just kept it simple and classy like the putter itself.

Curious what headcovers y’all are replacing the stock one with. I have the ugly bright yellow 5.5 that I’d love to replace with a magnetic one.  The double Velcro is the worst design IMO.

I second this…curious as well. Wish SC just made a simple black or white mallet headcover, it would make it so much more classy and appealing…

Im a Braves fan and never owned a piece of SWAG gear in my life but they went through my pockets today with their headcover release and I'm hopeful that will fit a 9. 

 

Went by GG today and they let me see the 7 and 9 and the 7 head is much bigger than I was expecting. For some reason the size doesnt bother me as much on the other mallets but I think if I want a fanged mallet ill be looking elsewhere. That being said the 9.5 will be picked up tomorrow.

Currently use last year's X11. Came in thinking I would walk out with a X7 but went 7.5. In reality my stroke isn't fully straight back and through. Also just liked the esthetics of the flow neck rather than double bend. Feel is great, may end up sending to Scotty for customization some point in the future.
