Puma Golf Shoes 2022

What are everyone's thoughts on pumas golf shoes? I had a pair a few years back but have been looking at some new shoes this year. What's your favorite pair this year?

Specifically looking at the Ignite Pwradapt Caged Crafted shoes

Pwradapt caged are awesome, the new Alphacat are as good or better, 2 pair and wanting to grab the new limited edition that just came out.

I'm so curious about how the alphacat disc golf shoes perform. They're the same as the regular alphacat's with the BOA lacing system right?

Yes, have gray laced and white disc, fit is same, kinda dig the disc.

 

i would add that I went up one full size from caged pwradapt

Pwradapt caged (not crafted) are super comfy, questionable waterproofing, at least for PNW winter. I got a warranty replacement a few days ago. Good summer shoe

I know the OP was mostly interested in the Ignite PwrAdapt Caged Crafted, but I only have experience with the ProAdapt Delta Mids. Love the look, and they feel great. Although I haven't had the chance to walk a round of golf in them, yet, due to weather, here. I have worn them around the house for hours at a time, and they've felt really good, with no rubbing concerns, so far. Just thought I would put this info out there, since the thread title was about Puma shoes.

Curious about the waterproofing of the new Alphacats.  They say one year waterproofing but I worry about the mesh/cloth area of the tongue and around the ankle.  Need a pair of shoes for a trip to Northern Ireland.

I can see that concern. I cleaned mine up a bit today and got that portion pretty wet on purpose, could not feel from the under side, but that is a brief soaking, although most rain pants would cover most of it.

These definitely appear limited, just got a “ we miss you “ 15% code from Puma golf, so pulled the trigger on these at $144, size is out of stock now. Not many places let you slide without sales tax these days, nice surprise.

I have the non crafted version of the pwradapt and they’re great. Super comfortable and roomy.

I have the cage crafted. I love them, but I did go down a half size from my normal size

Pwradapt Caged are the most comfortable golf shoe I have ever worn. Provide excellent stability on uneven lies as well.

Hows the waterproofing? I feel like they would be a little better from the normal version because of the leather.

I just picked up a pair of the ProAdapt AlphaCat and while I haven't worn them on the course yet, they are very comfortable around the house. The wide is just right for my foot. I had not previously thought about Puma for shoes but impressed so far.

I had the white pwradpt caged last year with the BOA system and really liked them until the BOA broke.

 

Few small things I didn't love is how high the sock "tounge" is, it runs up your shin and if you're playing in the heat it gets wet just from sweat dripping down your leg, and the leather pull tab, kind of out of place.

 

That said, I've ordered the white and blue pairs and will probably add another pair...

This was my concern as well. Ultimately decided to return my pair because As a dew sweeper I couldn’t see a situation where the tongue/ankle fabric wouldn’t end up getting soaked through after a few holes.

I snagged a pair of the Pwradapt Caged on sale and they're a comfortable shoe, I just wish they didn't have that sock as it's a pain to get my foot in there with wide feet. I do wish they were a bit more stable though but very good for really dry days when walking.

those of you rocking the pwradapt caged, did they fit true to size for you? or did you go down 1/2 size?

 

i was trying some on at DSG today but didn’t really give them a full tryout because my son was pulling every box of shoes off the shelves.

I have a relatively wide foot and it fit pretty well in a 9, I'm generally either a 9 or a 9.5 depending on the brand.

I’ve strictly had Nike Roshe tours for the last several years. Tried different things but always went back to the Nikes. Puma Alpha cats are awesome. Love the look. Super comfortable and great traction. Gonna pick up another pair.

I need to hear some more reviews on the AlphaCats.  I just tried these on and almost bought them on the spot.  They might be the most comfortable shoes golf or non-golf i have ever put on.  I am just hesitant because I have never worn spikeless shoes on the course, so I do worry about the grip.  Would be interested in hearing someones opinion on how much traction you get with these soles, perform good in morning dew or wet conditions? I am also curious to how supportive the upper is, it's such a soft and flexible material.  But these things feel like socks, unbelievably comfortable.  Right now my favorite gamers are the puma pwradapt caged and nike tour premieres.

Pretty much all I have played in this Spring, have 2 pair, third color arriving tomorrow.

 

No traction issues and played the first few holes in the rain this weekend on a hilly course, was already wet from a storm the previous night. It’s a shoe you don’t even think about when wearing, enough on the mind already.

 

I have a laced pair and a BOA pair, excellent shoes.

I usually play in adidas shoes (codechoas/zg21) but am very curious about the Alphacats. Anybody have any experience with all three of these? Do the alphacats run true to size? Are the more narrow or wide fit?  Thanks for any input

Definitely wider than Nike.  I am 1/2 size up compared to Nike, never worn Adidas.
