Has anyone ordered a custom set of D9 Forged yet? If so, how long did ilthe process take? Really looking at pulling the trigger on a set with Modus 120’s. If they perform anything like my C300 forged, they will stay in my bag for years to come

Ordered custom from Wilson on June 39th.  They arrived on Thursday.  Just a bit over 1 month

Thomas was impressed. I think the moderator was ready to play them! What everyone is noticing is from the C300F to the D7F to these, the heads have gotten a lot sleeker. I really want to see them in person.

Oh, I’m definitely making the drive out there to say hello, see your golf course and hit whatever you have — Wilsons or PXGs! I like your tastes. 👍

Currently playing the T300's and have pretty good success with them.  Someone in this thread mentioned that the D9F are softer feeling than the T300's and this intrigued me.

I ordered a 7i in the D9F for evaluation and when comparing the D9F to the T300, you can certainly tell that the D9F are much softer feeling even on center face shots.  My question is about the distance and spin characteristics of the D9F compared to the T300's.

I don't want to sacrifice distance when considering the D9F and really didn't see any difference when hitting both 7i's.  I'm not a long hitter so distance is a priority for me.  However, love to have a little more spin when hitting into greens with scoring clubs.

I honestly don't see that much of a difference between the two clubs when set at address.  Perhaps the top line on the D9F is slightly smaller but the length of the club head seems about the same, which to me, is a good thing.

Anyone want to comment on distance differences between the T300 to the D9F?

No comparison is softness.  Wilson wins hands down.  Thinner top line, narrower sole also.  Nothing wrong with T300s but a better comparison might be to the D9 as opposed to D9 Forged

Is anyone able to offer a comparison between the D9 Forged and the C300 Forged:

club head size?

sole width?

top line?

Just from memory the D9's are quite a bit slimmer all the way around. No slots in the short irons.

Are the grooves on the gap wedge the same as the irons?

That gap wedge looks a lot different than the rest of the irons. There's a ton of pics of the faces out there.

Was checking these out again today. Very much like the head size and the flow of the set. Shape is classic Wilson Staff and looks great from address.

You ever get your clubs, how long did it end up taking? Are you liking them?

i did...a month and a half.  not saying they are worth that wait but they are worth the wait.  probably need to re-shaft but i like what i've seen so far.  forgiving and long.  and great looking.

I have them.  Actually listed in Classifieds right now.  And getting steep is something I worried about.   But they are great through the turf.  Sure a bit smaller than a GI like the normal D9.  But more forgiving on slightly heavy contact than the Mizuno 223 I had were.

thanks for the feedback! Im hovering around a 5 cap but just looking for something to take a little stress off pure ball striking haha. The mp58’s dont give much room for error when I go a week not being able to touch a club

Yeah. These would fit the bill nicely.  At a 16, They are slightly out of my pay grade. I hit some really nice feeling shots with them.  But not as consistent with them as I need to be.

Love the look and feel but they were definitely less consistent than other irons I've tried. Also, W/S obsession with chrome is too much for me.

That said, they do make some of the most underrated equipment in the industry.

I just got my D9 Forged irons this week and they are absolutely pure! I am switching from 2021 (T100) irons and I must say, the added forgiveness is a delight... On mishits I am still on/or near the green instead of 20 yards short with the T100....   I was checking out the Mizuno Pro 223/225, Srixon ZX7/5, Apex, and the Wilson's were the winner. Super slick looking too; I've had several comments from people saying how good they look in the bag.

I play to a 7 and have played Srixon ZX7, Mizuno 223 and recently Cobra forged tec 2022, which I'm selling.  Just play a round with these.  They have the best feel, spin and distance of anything I've played.  They are super easy to hit and fly high and long.  I've dropped a few strokes a side and couldn't be happier.  Also, they look amazing by the ball and gives me a ton of confidence.  I'm getting a little older and was wanting everything these provide and actually a club longer.

Also I don't know if it's relevant, but the Wilson D9 Forged with the KBS TOUR LITE (stiff, 100g) feels like a much lighter club than my Titleist T300 with AMT RED (regular, 95g).

The swingweight is definitely not the same.

I can't really tell if it's for the better, as I don't feel it changed my ballstrike, but it's what I feel.

I think the head of the D9 Forged is lighter than the T300's (which has tungsten in it), mainly because the D9 Forged head is noticeably smaller (so less material). If you add an heavier shaft (+5g) to the equation : It feels definitely lighter. Less headweight at the end of the club.

I never latched in to this before  so a lighter steel shaft you will feel the weight of the clubhead more   but be lighter in overall weight? Yes that does make sense

Totally agree!  These are some good looking cb’s that have some horsepower.  I absolutely love Wilson’s iron designs as of late.  This would be a great match in the 4/5i to go with cb’s as well.

Why are these called CBs?  Is that for  cavity back  the d9 nonforged is a CB  these ones gave the back filled in so are they still deemed cavity back?

It's still a cavity back. They aren't like the titleist T200.

I have been gaming the Mizuno Pro 225 since May. PX 6.0 IO shafts. Hit them well, great distance and dispersion. To me, the only issueI was the turf interaction and the feel

Enter the Wilson D9 Forged. These have replaced my 225’s. I have them with the DG105 VSS shafts. Distance is the same as the Mizuno. Better turf interaction and the best part is the feel! Like butter ! I definitely like the DG shaft better. I’ve played it before and it works very well for my swing. I have no issues with the power holes. The clubs with them feel fantastic as well.

Honestly , you can’t go wrong with either set. Both look great and perform. I really like the chrome look of the Wilson!
