Baby T grips

Amazing to me that no company has dup’d that grip.   I’ve tried about every grip profile I can find and nothings exactly the same.  Played the iomic mid, green star gp, Lamkin cross line paddle… the closest I’ve found is the iomic absolute x.  The butt of the grip is a little different and it doesn’t flatten out as much in the middle but the profile is pretty close.  I wish someone would just duplicate it so I could buy about 20 of them 🤣

 

Paying and over 100 bucks for a used up slick grip is asinine.

I agree 100%. I too have tried every conceivable alternate, including the ones you mention, and nothing is the same.

 

I think the closest I ever found was the Golf Pride Tour Velvet putter grip. But that has been out of production for 10-15 years so when those were available I could still get a Baby T for $15 to $20.

LOL. This has been asked before. From 2008. The OP complains about the Baby T being so expensive at $15!!!!! (which was the going rate back then--I could buy them directly from my local Golf Galaxy).

Business idea, we make a company that copies and remakes iconic grips best we can. Just need to find the proper production company to make them.

It was my favorite all time grip. The only one that came somewhat close to it was the Odyssey DFX JV.

I remember picking up a red one in Myrtle Beach at the PGA Tour Superstore (back when it was still Martin's if anyone remembers that.) Pretty sure I got a red Studio Design grip, too. Much simpler times. I'd have gotten 50 of them if I knew I'd never find them again and what the resale value would be, lol.

I have a new one on an old futura and I am scared to try to pull it afraid I will destroy it being almost 20 years old!

I've got lucky on a few barely used for 60 and under. Knowing it's not coming back is completely worth it to me. Scotch Brite and the right cleaner will restore grips good as new

When I had my Cameron’s in college the Titleist rep would sell them to me for 10 a pc.  I should of cleaned him out… I only went through 1 a year but had 7-8 putters from him. 
 

Hopefully someone 3D scans one in and makes a ton of them for like 20 bucks a grip… if that happens I’m in!   I’d buy about 10 right off the rip and a ton more for builds I do.

I’ve had a few of them and they’re not exactly the same.   The thickness of the flat in the middle of the grip is different and the taper at the butt isn’t the same

Just send putter into custom shop for reshaft and regrip. It is cheaper then that by a wide margin. Think I spent $100 or so for my circa when I sent it in and needed a longer shaft anyways so its perfect to do that instead

Prob is my Cameron has the studio grip on it so I’m hosed

I've tried both the Lamkin Deep Etched and that gray Odyssey (DMX?) and both are significantly larger.  The Baby T is no doubt my favorite grip and someone should absolutely 3D scan a clone....

This grip is still in production, they had it at the Scotty Cameron Gallery when i got my putter re gripped last week

Yes we’re all aware of this.  You can’t buy it direct from Cameron and I’m not sending a perfect putter in for a 300 dollar refinish to get a 49 dollar grip that can’t be touched on the open market for less than 100 dollars.  Thus the point of this thread.. we need a duplicate

Send your putter in to get a grip, headcover, and free paint fill. Sell the headcover. Your grip will cost less than $50.
