If you had $300 - which putter are you going to buy?

I'm saving another $100 and buying a putter that starts with an S and ends with a cotty! 😂 

 

Once you own a properly fit Scotty, you know when you miss a putt its you and not the club.

I joke with my friends that potentially, someone could putt with a brick and still be better than I am. I love putters. Not necessarily putting though. As many mentioned above, definetly hit putters. On paper, I think the Taylormade Spyder is unreal. However, I can't get myself to hit it and I don't like how it looks behind the ball at all. It's all about looks and feel. You can make anything work.

Only problem with Scotty is that their main lines are the popular modern putter types, the classic design types (weighted or not) are only limited run which is really really hard to get (and I happen to use those classic design types, so that I am not paying for a "collectors price" now a days Japan is the main place that I look now being they prefer classic design and yes some of them has exchangeable weights)

I'm not really sure what you mean? 

 

Special select line are mostly classic shapes.

The special select is only really 2 types of shapes - flange blade and a flange mallet. It looks like a lot being its just 2 heads shapes with 4 different shaft methods (and adjustment of the flange size to match to the shaft type) making it 8 options.

 

Im semi-partial to the blade types, I myself am using one of his older bullseye, and I also like L shaped blades (but with a much smaller flange vs his modern stuff)... both which he hasnt made for ages (2005).

If I had $300 for a putter, sorry but I like my putter already-we've been through a lot, I'd just have my old putter and $300 in an envelope. 

I have considered buying a duplicate for backup/practice/emergencies-but I'm still collecting/refurbing vintage irons.

It's jut always worked. My putter has never misjudged a break or distance. I do all of that FOR it. 😂 It's my most trusted club.

One time a foursome I'd been waiting behind waved me up on a Par 3 and I managed to hit a decent shot, maybe 20 feet straight below the hole. I hustled up there and said, "I'll hit this and be out of your way" then hit the putt without even really lining it up...

 

...or without noticing the headcover was still my putter. Needless to say, it came up a little short!

 

A gave myself the par, thank them and headed to the next tee.

I'm an Odyssey fan. But I'd suggest finding whatever feels good for you. I've thought I'd love a certain putter then actually used it and hated it. So try before you buy if possible. And I buy just about all my golf clubs used, including putters
