That’s a lotta ✈️

Are they required to play all these?

So as I was saying, I don't think travel is all that big of an issue.  I lost my schedule with the majors, The Scottish and the BMW PGA thrown in to show, but there are usually a full week off for the really difficult travel "asks."  The most compressed time period appeared to be May but even then that was all US travel.

I think LIV has done a pretty good job making the schedule make geographic and logistical sense and meshes well with what few other events the LIV guys may play.  Granted, I didn't go down the road of checking the LIV schedule against the DPWT full schedule.  That may become a little problematic for some of those guys.

The Tuscon and Tulsa stops interest me the most.  I like watching tournament golf at Old White but have seen it before.  Glad it is still hosting professional men's golf no doubt, just not expecting to see something I haven't seen before.

I think they should have had more events in Q4. Their season will end when the PGA season does essentially. One advantage of LIV last season was they were having events when nothing of significance was happening on the PGA Tour. That is a good way to get viewers who like golf but don't have big events to watch.

I could be totally wrong but i would have thought spreading the events more and keep the season going later might benefit them

No PNW LIV event in 2023 per the latest schedule.

I must have been looking at last year. PNW, neglected again.

Looks like the biggest loser here is the DP World Tour. The British Masters is one of the oldest/premier events for the DP World Tour and the BMW PGA is the tour's flagship event. Wouldn't be surprised if we see some guys from the DP World Tour jump

Yes.

So much for "being able to spend more time at home" 😬...

I believe that was the sentiment when it was an 8 event series. Isn't the PGA now a 20 minimum? No matter how you slice it still definitely less golf and from what I've seen the families are traveling in style with the players.

Seems like a balanced schedule except I would put the 2 Florida events together to end the season similar to how the LPGA does.

I'll be interested to see the counter moves the PGAT and the DPWT make in response.

Does the Valspar / Colonial / Byron Nelson become elevated events? Does the PGAT and DPWT agree to co-sponsor the British Masters or BMW PGA like the Scottish Open? Should be an interesting back and forth with LIV looking for weak spots on the schedule and the establishment constantly changing the weak spots.

15 is still the minimum to keep your membership.

The 20 requirement is to be eligible for the PIP program, and that includes the majors.

Sure it’s technically less “competitive” rounds, but assuming the LIV guys qualify for majors that adds an addition 4 events bringing the total required amount to 18. Add in the fact that those are contested in 6 different countries and they are required to participate in pro-ams it’s really not any less travel time.

Plus, the fact that they may be required to show up at three or more Asian events.....

It has been quiet...too quiet  😉

Interestingly enough, there are only 7 events "officially" listed on the 2023 schedule page:  https://www.livgolf.com/2023-events

Odd...

I am really surprised that there is not tournament in Saudi Arabia.  Perhaps the Saudi International (Feb 5) and the new Saudi Open (TBD) will be required for LIV players?

I guess that you only need a three month lead time to setup for a golf event.
