Switching from Odyssey 10 to 11?

Honeybadger

Recommended Posts

Anyone switching from the Odyssey 10 to the 11 now that they have every variety in the 11? I have the 10 2 Ball Triple Track and they just came out with a 2 Ball TT in the 11 and it looks really good. I was wondering if it really does put a better roll on the ball or is this a case of as Nigel said, “These go to 11…”

I am wondering the same thing! I just posted a question (a couples hours after yours), looking for comparisons between the two.

I saw some online reviews that say the forgiveness is the same and the feel is better with the 11. Most of the reviewers were pretty ambivalent about upgrading.

Lucky enough we have both these in store where I work.

For me at least, the 11 sits flush on the floor where the 10 can...wobble a bit

The main thing that annoys me (because I'm me and I don't like the idea that the marketing works), is how damn good the triple track 2-ball lines up. It makes more than my old Rossie and I don't like it! 🤣

I put one in the bag a month ago, and so far have been very impressed.  I did put on a SS grip, a pistol GT 1.0, and I liked it even more

I'm seeing more of these on Tour, I see Kevin Kisner has a 2 ball eleven double bend in the bag now, saw a few at the senior open.

Good 1st round with the 11- 33 putts with one 3 putt (double tiered green and I was on the uphill tier). I had 3 lip out from over 25 feet. It really felt as if Odyssey’s claim is true- that the dispersion is better because of the forward center of gravity. The ball seemed like it really tracked better to the hole then with the 10. More feedback to come.

11>10 mostly in looks but the weight at the front makes for better speed dispersion IMO. I've also never had a double bend putter sit as square as the 11 does.

Interesting. I had a 10S and it appeared open to me at address. Just couldn't get used to having to manipulate the face to get it square every time.  I've got to check out the 11.

Second outing with the 11 (I put a Rosemark  38 lite on it) and I had 33 putts with two 3 putts. I again really felt that the lag putts held their lines very well- I had some bad misreads, so while my distance control was great, but I wasn’t tap in close to the hole. I missed one short one as it was a downhill sidewinder. I am happy I switched because I think the forward center of gravity helps put a nice roll on the ball without having to think as much about it as with the 10.

I just picked up an 11 after a recent dark stretch on the greens. It really does sit super flush and square, and I've had the same experience as others here in my speed control being significantly better. It's certainly not the prettiest or smallest putter out there but if it works I couldn't care less right now.

For a mallet, knock on wood, so far it probably has been the best for speed control of any I have tried, and I have tried a lot.  Speed control has been my number one issue with about any mallet I have tried, and the 11 it has been as good as any Newport type of putter I have ever had luck with.   I also have never really seemed to get along that much with inserts in putters either, but this version of the white hot seems like it plays more like a milled putter. The weight forward also seems to make it less likely to twist during the stroke, there is just something very different about it, has the forgiveness of the big mallet, but better stability for my stroke.

I really want to keep it in the bag for the rest of the year and see if it stays as consistent as it has been so far.

Received my custom ordered Eleven 2-ball DB last night (7th), ordered it on the 4th. Great turnaround time, thanks Callaway/Odyssey!

It really does sit perfectly square at setup which is great cause my Ten flops open at setup for me. It also sounds and feels much more solid than the Ten which has a hollow feel when miss-hit. It is a little wider than the Ten but looks more compact overall if that make sense.

My 2-ball Ten DB is fully face balanced but the 2-ball Eleven DB has about 10 degrees toe hang. I don't know if that will make any difference, but worth noting. You can feel the difference in weight distribution for sure, as the Ten feels more back-weighted and wants to swing more open in the backstroke where the Eleven is more front-weighted giving it a more subtle turn in the swing.

Overall they are both great putters, and each provides a little different feel and stroke pattern. Only time will tell which one will stay in the bag.

OK, so I got a round in this weekend with the Odyssey 2-Ball Eleven DB and I must say it preformed quite well. 30 putts with no 3 putts. I had great distance control, made all the knee knockers and even dropped a 45 foot bomb for birdie. I love that I can set it down and it just sits so square. Makes lining it up and gripping so easy. Feels so solid and stable on impact. I will give it a few more rounds but initial  impressions are that this one is going to easily replace the 2 ball Ten.

I'm 4 months in with the 11 and I still  love it. Had a round last week where I had 27 putts on 9 greens hit... everything dropping. For someone who tested or owned Cobra SIK Torino, Spider X Hydroblast, Phantom 11, and Stroke Lab 7... this one was head and shoulders above the rest. The only thing I'm considering is switching out the grip for a Superstroke of similar weight... but won't do that until the putting starts to cool off!

33 and 32 putts in the last two rounds. I played in a scramble today and I was the anchor man all day- this allowed me to see how well the putts held the line as I had three putts to watch to pick the perfect line.  We had a few putts of over 25 feet and I burned the edges a bunch of times- Odyssey isn’t blowing smoke about the forward cg. The putts really hold their line! I also made a bunch of 5-10 footers.

Does anyone know the weight of the stock oversize Odyssey grip on the 11? I put a SS 2.0 in and its feeling a little light.

I was wondering the same thing as I replaced with a Rosemark 3.8 lite- which is 62 grams
The older model oversized was 67, so I would imagine the new ones are about the same.

Yeah that makes perfect sense then. The SS 2.0 is 55g, so a 12g difference would for sure be noticeable.

Just bought an 11 2 ball tour line S and I had one outing with mixed results. Changed from usual grip, so switched back to that and  will play again… am hopeful for better results. Absolutely echo how flush it sits, the weighting feels perfect. I was between this and a 10 and think the new weighting on 11 trumps 10 for sure. The roll is so pure.

They are same key wrench as Toulon, but the weights seem bigger. The Toulon la Mans seems to have normal Toulon weights,  but the 11 has the same screw but larger weights.

I assumed the Tri-Hot weights (which you can buy on Callaways/Odysseys website) are the same as the 11’s weights. But Idk for certain.

Don't know if the honeymoon is over, but my last 2 rounds have been poor.  Last Saturday had 26 putts, but missed 2 easy 5-6 footers  for birdie, sort of a Spieth type of round, made some nice mid length putts, but felt shaky on short ones.  Next day hit the ball great but didn't putt well, speed was good but couldn't hit putts on line.

Yesterday was similar, struggled to hit it on line, the worst was missing 3 putts in a row on 15 16, 17 from about 3 feet.  Overall speed control was ok, but had 36 putts on the day, terrible.

It's going on the bench today, probably pull out my Newport 2 as a test.

Same thing happened to me- seemed as if the honeymoon is over. I put my Ping Tyne into play- same exact result. Putting the 11 back in- at least with the 11, my lag putting is excellent.

Went with an older Nike putter yesterday, no 9 style from the Oven, 29 putts, no missed short ones, made 4 over 15 feet for birdie, missed 4 from 8-10 for par, blame there was poor chips from the rough just off the green.  I would call it a good day.
