Would you sign a contract with the PGATOUR if it was required in 2023?

Yes, I agree.  The emergency funds should keep them going, as long as all of their sponsors don't bail out at once, which I don't think would happen.

If that's the case, the PGAT would have never existed without the PGA of America.

Oh sure, LIV would have harvested most of their players from a failing European tour  and paid them $100M.....LOL!

Their sucess is dependent on them stealing players from the Pgatour......Stop the influx of players and the LIV Series crumble .....

Just for starters.........

PGATOUR would pay for this by dumping salaries..... up sponsor fees and dip into the emergency account that they breeched during Covid........plus the money acquired from LIV Golf series for the purchase of players contracts, unless they explore other options like the Asian tour.

 

Over  four years....eliminating the PIP  program is $200M right there.

bottom line is guys will sell their soul to and sign with the devil for a chance to play on a pro tour, mainly because its all they know how to do....They have used up all their college eligibility, they can beat everyone in their home town, and they can hold their own when the mini tour circuit comes into their backyard...their choices are to play a tour or toil away at spending hours teaching people to get the ball airborne

The PGA tour under the leadership of Monahan has zero interest in paying players as he was on live TV saying the players need him.

 

You think they are going to change their stance from "you need us" to "we need you?"

In my opinion, its a non-starter. These guys are independent contractors and will continue to remain so. If the tour had their way, if it were possible, everyone would be playing 50 weeks a year.
