FYI -PayPal charges from ship station!

I used PayPal offered ship station 2 times last month for reduced shipping rates. Today I got an email saying I'm being charged $12.75 to my PayPal from Ship station. I'm like WTF so I call PayPal. And he said those are monthly recurring charges and I must of not read the fine print. He said he will cancel my shipstation agreement and will file a dispute on my behalf.

So just want to help any others who might use shipstation. Make sure to not sign any agreement. Pretty tricky if you ask me. I just wanted to use it as a 1 time transaction.

This is not the first thread on this but I have had shipstation through PayPal since they converted and never had a single crazy charge!  I don’t know what people are clicking to get this charge BUT right from the PayPal site it states that there is NO subscription charges to use Shipstation!!

Thanks for the response. Yah I'm usually pretty saavy about the fine print. It was def some type of trick. The PayPal rep was really convincing he will take care of it. Weird.

Pirate ship is fantastic.  It is nice to use PayPal shipping because it populates the confirmed address automatically.  There is less chance of error transferring the address over.  Hopefully PayPal works this out.  I had the same issue with charges a month after I shipped some items, but they did automatically refund me about a week after.

I started a thread on this very topic a few months back. Many people were having the same issues at that time.

The 12.75 is ups charging you because the box is a different size or weight that stated. Ups tries this all the time you need to make sure it not .1 over the inch stated. Just file a dispute and you win 99% of the time

My box was measured exact. The PayPal rep said it was some monthly recurring charges.

I am also running into the same $12.75 adjustment charges. I have the store measure my boxes and weigh them to be certain NOT to get charged and yet they still bill my account $12.75 for adjustment charges. In speaking with PP they then gave my the PP ShipStation email address so now I am going through the hassle of emailing back and forth. And they are asking me for pictures proving that my packages were within the defined (label) purchase specifications. Am I the only one who thinks this is borderline illegal to charge our account without supplying evidence as to why?

 

 

I do not have any pictures, the onus to prove my packages are sized incorrectly or not adequate should fall on UPS. I take to the ship store and they find no issues with dimensions, weight or packaging. If something is not up to standard someone should be sending me the proof why - how am I in the position of trying to defend doing business with Shipstation/UPS - Honestly this is very disappointing.  Without tangible proof how can someone just add fees to my account? If this is not resolved I will consider seeking legal consultation. It feels criminal to be charged with out proof why, then have to supply evidence of why I should not be charged.  I will have no problem communicating my displeasure with all of this on social media platforms as well.

Over 48" in length, even by 1/16" ?  Or a non-rectangular box shape?  Those are 2 common excess handling fees with golf gear.
