Based upon testing several graphite design models and fact that favor heavier overall weights, back to HD7s tipped a bit in driver and VR8s tipped additionally in fairway.

UB6 in driver and DI7 in fairway were really good, just not quite as consistent for me.

The UB can definitely handle that. Just depends on how you deliver it. 

 

The VF is a great shaft.  5x will also handle it plenty. I think JT toyes with it for a short time. 5x

Depends.  I've had both and while I love the feel of both, the numbers and accuracy of the VF was hands down better.  VF did launch 1-2* lower and spun 200 rpm less on average while being more anti-left.

I bought a GP shaft for my driver.  I guess because I like the color.   For whatever reason, the GD site doesn't list this shaft.  Is the GP basically an older version of the VF?

GP had a niche following back in the day both on Asian tour and PGA tour.  My buddy still who's a +3 cap still has one that he switches out from time to time.  VF has replaced it and it's certainly an upgrade in the feel and stability department.  GP is highly underrated and is still a good shaft, IMO.

It's always had good reviews when I've caught one. I reckon i would enjoy the profile myself.

switched from a Di 6x tipped half an inch to a VF tipped a quarter inch. 

 

The VF tipped a bit less than the Di gave me more hinge at the top while keeping the same low spin. really can't go wrong with either DI or VF!

Strange, but I can see it working, sorta.  I hate the DI no matter how tipped it is.  Sure, I hit some of my longest drives, however, it's spray and pray, lol.  My dumbass kept the 7X in the bag for more than 3 years before moving onto something else.  VF is just money.

i found with the DI personally i could only fade the shaft. not sure if it's bc its billed as a fade shaft on GD's chart but couldnt draw it for life. VF feels "tighter" still in the tip, but it is easier to draw it seems especially with the less tipping.

Wow, I found the opposite.  DI was a hook machine for me.  The very few times that I hit a fade with the DI, it was by accident, lol.  VF/UB are the only GD shafts I can work both ways.

So reshafted my Callaway UW 17* and 21* with the DI 7S.  Play the 5s IZ in my driver.  Di 85s in a Titleist Hybrid both with good results.  Was hoping the DI 7s would work out well in the UW's but the dispersion is not great.  Might try the IZ 7s.....thoughts?

IZ would be a good start.  UB is also another solid option in terms of added stability with lower launch and spin compared to DI.  I also found HD/TP to work very well in fairways and UW.

looks like a proto from the new carbon weave in the handle. Seems like GD is finally releasing some shafts with extra carbon (Tensei, TR). Totally unsure of the profile though..

IZ 7s works great for me in the UW’s. We play similar setups based on your signature. I liked the DI in my 17* UW at first, but found the IZ and UB to be better for me. I prefer the IZ over the UB in a UW and 3 metal.  I did not get along with DI kick over time and some misses were enough for me to make the change. At that time, I was playing the IZ in my driver as well.

Also, my Paradym 3HL has a IZ 7s as well.

+1 on the UB compared to the DI. Obe lob s to the VF but the UB is a solid shaft.

Was perusing GD website and found these.  Love my MMT, but after seeing this, I'm tempted to swap out.  Very linear in profile, but seems to be pretty soft across the board.

The raunes are sweet! Just unsure of their performance for higher ss
