With an AD-DI 6s playing at 44.75 inches full length (including TS2 club head), does that mean it's tipped somewhere between .25 to 1 inch? 

I assume that would make it slightly stiffer than a typical AD-DI 6s.

Overall length does not tell you anything about tipping. See the above post on how to measure tip trimming.

Again, looking for something that on paper will launch/spin lower than a TB. But, I’d like to maintain as much of a traditional blueboard feel as possible.

These charts are always interesting to me. Obviously everybody is going to get different results, but I see the DI as significantly higher launching than the HD. The lower right chart has the DI as predominantly fade biased, which I don’t see in my experience. Also think the DI was more of a kick/loading feel than the IZ….  All good shafts though, depending on how they fit the individual.

The shaft so nice I bought it twice. Built up a new GI 4 iron for tee use. Ovelength at 39.5” with a P790 black and an AD HY 95

Recently purchased a GD Tour AD TP 8S 3 wood shaft pull off of EBay.

 

Removed the PXG shaft adapter this morning, trimmed the shaft tip 1/2” then prepped and epoxied on a Cobra shaft adapter.  

 

Going to put it into a LTDx 7 wood head, remove the grip, cut the butt to length and then put on my preferred grip.

 

If it works as well as I hope then I will have a GD shaft in my Driver (AD VR 6S), 4 wood (AD DI 7S) and 7 wood.

 

A buddy of mine that I played with last Thursday was wanting to try a different shaft in his Cobra LTDx LS 9.0 driver.  The stock Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White 60 S was giving him a pretty bad low hook miss from time to time.  Too low launch and low spin for him.  He also didn’t like the high kick point.  He was having trouble getting his timing and sequencing right with it.

 

Took a half dozen shafts to the range Monday morning for him to try and the best fit was the GD Tour AD DI 6S lofted up +1 with the 10 gram weight moved to the heel and the 3 gram weight in the toe.  High, Straight bombs!  

 

He loved the smooth feel, sensation of load and he could swing it with a good tempo without having to try and add power to get it to work.  The orange color also matches the Cobra LTDx head pretty well adding to the appeal.  Definitely a sharp looking combo.

 

Went to the course and had him hit a few with his gamer ball off the first tee to confirm the fit.  Gave the shaft to him to play a few rounds with it.  If it performs as well for him as it did at the range I’m confident he’ll be begging me for it!  I will give him a good deal since I got it at a very good price myself.

 

If it doesn’t work there were a couple of other shafts that were also good performers including a GD Tour AD MT 6 S that he can put into play.

Just got an AD MJ in the UW to compliment my AD HD in the driver and AD DI in the 3 wood. Hopefully it works out

Playing the VR in driver.  DI in 3 wood.

 

The DI was launching higher than optimal for me in driver.

I had an MJ 8 in my UW 19 for a while last year. Was a good combo if you need to bring the spin and launch up on that head.

I always thought the DI was too loose for me in the driver but I just time it really well in a 3 wood. The HD feels more linear to me which i like for my fade

I definitely want that. I have a LA Golf Trono in it from the PGASS free upcharge mistake and its just too stiff for me

Welp, that didn't last long...just bought an IZ for testing...my second time buying the exact same shaft. What's the definition of insanity again?

I’d love to hear some folks’ experiences with the VR. Where does it fit into GD’s lineup? What do you get from it vs., say, the HD or the DI? 
 

I had one last year in a G425 Max driver briefly, but I didn’t stick with that driver very long. If I remember correctly on the VR, I think it’s got a slightly higher balance point? I’m thinking about a blueboard-type shaft to try in a G430 LST head, and figured one with a higher balance point might help. I could be wrong about the balance point though?

Do the UB and AD feel the same or similar? Have UB in fairway metal, thinking about trying AD in driver if the feel is the same

I hated the UB, but love the feeling of the DI and the HD.

I have never had a Graphite Design shaft.  I saw one today in the "used bin".  It was a Tour AD XC 7X and was their demo shaft from the Callaway Maverick line.  So, I am thinking it has never been outside and there was not a mark on it.  It was $199 so I got it.  I had some trepidation that it would be a piece of rebar, but it wasn't.  It was a very good feeling shaft.  Great piercing ball flight with lots of roll, which is good for golfing in these parts where it tends to be windy.
