Driving iron shaft suggestion?

After reading through threads and on a few suggestions from members here, I want to transform my HMB 3i into a driving iron by swapping out the DGS300 shaft into a graphite shaft.

 

For reference, I play Modus 120S in my iron and the 1k 70S in driver and Pro White 70S in 3W. 19* hybrid has the Fuji Pro 7S 2.0. Love the feel of all of these shafts. 
 

Not sure if I should be looking for a graphite shaft similar to the feel of the Modus since this is an “iron” or of I should gravitate more toward the hybrid/wood/driver shafts I have?  Should the weight be more comparable to the hybrid or irons?

I play Modus Tour 120X soft stepped once in my irons and play the KBS Prototype 85S graphite in my 3 driving iron. Seamless 'feel' for me. I prefer a slightly softer 'feeling' shaft in my long clubs as it helps in my tempo.

 

I had previously tried the KBS Prototype 100S in my 3 driving iron and found it quite stiff in feel.

S300 is mid/mid.  KBS Proto and Ventus Blue HB are both mid/mid as well and are the cream of the crop mid/mid hybrid graphite shafts on the market IMO.  Both feel smooth yet stable and have a variety of weight classes to choose from.

I don’t like the S300 at all. You think I should stay low/low or mid/mid for this project?

My thoughts on this is that a driving iron especially 2 or 3 iron is going to fly low and roll out so for most golfers, mid/mid shaft would be a better option.  I myself have the KBS proto and have tested the Ventus Blue and Black.  I really wanted to go with the Black but it was launching too low for me and didn't spin enough.  You still want your driving iron to get optimal apex height and spin so it doesn't just fall outta the sky too fast.  FYI, I'm a high launch/spin player.

I'm testing out a UST M40X LINQ Black and so far it's been fantastic. Very nominally priced UST offering but it's top of the line from them.

It depends what you’re looking for and what loft. For a 17-18* 2i, A heavier steel shaft could flight an already low lofted iron lower. I play DG x100 120g in irons and I really loved my 2i that had a GD tour ad 95x in it, isn’t as tip stiff as Ventus HB, so launched a tad higher.  I opted this season for a hybrid to get my launch and stopping power on approach shots. Most driving irons have a 90-100g shaft in it unless you opt for a heavier steel shaft.

I absolutely love my AD IZ 95 hybrid shaft in my 2.5 driving iron (19*). It’s profile is more “one piece” like the TP series, so that may give you the feel you want if you like more one piece. I have also had success with the KBS proto as others have mentioned.

I’ve struggled with lighter shafts in a driving iron, so have just bought a couple of used clubs during the July 4 sales with the same shaft as my other irons (steelfiber 110cw x flex) to see if that works. I hit my 4 iron (22 deg z585) pretty high so am not too worried about lower flight - will see how these get on, and if it doesn’t work out then look out for a bargain on the BST forum!

I would give the MMT 105 a shot. I play X100’s in irons but have my 3i in the MMT 125TX and it is a missile launcher.
