Anyone compare this with Ventus Blue TR?

As soon as my TSR3 head shows up I will be able to compare them.  Won't be apples to apples.  But, I have been playing the Blue TR in a Stealth Plus all season so I am very familiar with it.  Will hop on a sim and get as much data as I can.

Very curious about this comparison.  Blue TR was the only VeloCore shaft that fit me well in my driver.

Play the Diamana ZF in my Apex UW’s and it pairs very well with them and my swing but did not care for the ZF in a 3wood.

Would like to know more about how the TR , GT and ZF all compare.

In 3 wood .....Tested/hit the 70tx GT and also have the ZF in 70X,  little less hinge/kick then previous ZF in my mind.   The GT 70tx  might be a little too much for me and sure like to see if a heavier stiff flex would do in the fairway 80g.   I put the 70 g stiff GT in the driver and coming from the 60 1k orange 6x and ventus tr blue in 6x  its been outstanding,  strong mid flight, can work it both ways, window is very similar for my swing, different flex and weight throws it off so  patientally waiting for some more reviews on some of you  swingers in the 60tx range.   Feel is outstanding in both the GT's I've tested.  If anyones interested I probably looking into the 80 GT so have the 70tx fairway setting around.

Picking up a GT 80TX next week folks.  Kai'li Blue didn't work out for me unfortunately.  The word is that it's a slightly more stable ZF with less kick but still the great smooth feel.  Stay tuned as I will write a review soon.

Tested the GT against my ZF in same flex. Have two different ZF’s and the one tipped a half inch feels very similar to the the untipped GT.

The GT responded great to very hard swings. Like I felt like I could give it everything I had and it not lose anything, where the ZF could get loose. It didn’t however respond particularly well to a slower, flighted driver swing, and would be a low pull for me where the ZF would produce a low boring cut.

To compare it to the TR is hard because they’re two totally different beasts in terms of feel in the handle. I personally hated the TR because of the lack of feel, especially comparing it to the ZF. The GT has most of the feel of the ZF but will feel wildly more active than a Blue TR.

This was all in 60tx and 6x for reference in a Callaway Rogue ST TD

Thanks for posting.  Sounds like the GT is exactly what I'm looking for.  I love the way the ZF feels but whenever I go after one, it tends to go left in a hurry.  Didn't work for me in driver as I tend to swing 90%+.  Even in 3 metal, I have to slow down my tempo so that the ZF doesn't overdraw/hook which drives me crazy at times, lol.

Note: I hit the ZF during my recent Titleist fitting (it’s supposed to be virtually identical playing characteristics, as per MCA)

FWIW, and of course it’s dependent on the individual’s swing characteristics, loading, etc., but I had more ball speed with the the TR Blue than the ZF, launched about the same, but ZF had about 400-500 rpm less spin than the TR Blue. This resulted in 9 extra yards for me with the ZF (I’m 115 SS with an aggressive transition for reference). I think a lot of guys with aggressive transitions will love the stiffer butt section on the ZF / GT.

cheers

Wouldn’t hold my breath. MCA is moving away from red profiles outside of the kai’li red, which I believe is just to compete with Ventus red.

I wouldnt doubt it but the RF did have minor adoption on tour from Finau, Hatton, and a few others it just didnt last.

The RF was also not a traditional red profile so it was a weird one and didnt fit people properly who liked the 'old' red profiles so it failed in that respect. Then the Ventus Red came long and was also not a high launching or traditional feeling red profile - but had the hype of the Velocore and Ventus names so it was given more of a chance. The RF had no marketing and just kind of faded away, unfortunately.

IMO as Fuji has shown there is a place, still, to have black/blue/red profiles in a shaft line but you need to make sure people and fitters know what they actually are and market them properly. Mitsubishi is currently - AGAIN - not doing that properly with the Kai'li Red but its their product so whatever.

Another example of a red profile failure from Mitsubishi is the Tensei CK PRO Red. Actually a very cool shaft that was completely shut out of the market due to bad information, stigma, and marketing about the profile. I wish I could find a used one that wasnt a TX flex.

We’ll see how they do marketing the Kai’li Red, seeing that it’s not out till ‘23. But yeah, Fuji is doing very well to push and educate people on Ventus red. And I think all the mfr’s learned that you don’t want to label any shaft “high spin” if you want to sell it lol

I have the PD 60TX in my driver and I'm getting along with it as well as any driver shaft I've had in play for 10 years or more. As the guys said in the video, if you like to look down on more loft at address, the PD makes playing higher loft a more viable option than it would be otherwise.

Anyone know how this might compare to the Rogue White 130 70TX ?

Been thinking about trying something new, and was considering the Ventus Blue TR but the GT sounds intriguing, curious how the 3 shafts might compare, which would potentially give the highest launch? The Rogue seems to always be a little difficult to get specs on cause the TX version was never really published and is so different from the regular versions.

Very interesting. TB vs GT.

TB: Higher ball speed, lower launch, higher spin.

GT: Lower ball speed, higher launch, lower spin.

At 120 SS, GT gained 10+ yds. What would happen at 105 SS?

That’s a great question!  It’s very swing dependent.  As for Matt, the lead deflection with TBs slightly more active tip could have caused him to hit lower on the club face as the head moved more forward and up before contact.  I imagine, if he would have pured more strikes with TB his #s would have been better bc he definitely had the speed going with that shaft. The GT was just perfection for his current swing dynamics. I play ZF in driver and am chomping at the bit to try GT.

Matt has always gotten along better with stouter profiles that still have a little kick, like the GT and previously something like the Accra TZ6 which is very much in the same family and saw some ridiculous numbers. It's about feel and managing strike location, the only reason ball speed was down on the GT was he had been hitting it a little heel side previously and strike just moved up, so further away from the sweet spot which = less efficiency but balanced by more efficient launch conditions (higher launch, lower spin). You're also starting to get a little bit of the low spin boost from Foresight which is known to exaggerate distance slightly.

The only real takeaway here is as always, strike. Whether you're swinging 120, 105, or 85, whatever shaft feels the best and allows you to make the most consistent strikes is the right one.

I have a GT 70tx im going to get tipped today for a TSR2+ 3w

ZF was a finalist for me last year in driver but ultimately a little too active that caused some hook misses. Numbers were great and saw some great ball speed but it was more prone to big misses than other shafts. Im hoping the new GT tightens up the feel a little and should be great in a fairway

Matt hit it again in a driver fit video today and didn't do as well with it. Ended up in Tensei 1k Orange.

I had the ZF in a fairway last year and didn't love it as it launched low for me, but thought it would be great in a driver because the dispersion was good and I liked the firm feeling in the handle. Interested in the GT but kinda interested in the lower torque of the Kaili Blue as well and the Kaili is $100 less expensive.

I saw that.  He strikes with GT were all a few mm heel side!  Makes me wonder what a 10* TSR 3 with the moveable weight positioned behind the strike location would have looked like.   Man, I wish I could just nerd out at TXG one day.  Pull out some truly gonzo combos.

It's underrated for sure did but I didn't get along with it.  We all know why the Venus Black is so popular.  Here's looking at you Rory and others, wink, wink.  Hell, I got one not long after it was released.  PD has a very small number of golfers it would fit if you think about it.  Guys that swing fast and need getting spin down yet want a flatter ball.

I'm getting my GT 80TX for my 3 metal as well.  Currently have the ZF and I agree with what you're saying.  However, I love the way it feels so it's been in the bag for over a year now.  I've had to learn to slow down my transition to get the ZF to shine.  I also had it in driver and it would go hard left on me everytime I tried to step on one so that was a failed experiment.  Have the TB in driver now after the 1K Pro Orange and it's surprisingly good.  Slightly higher launch with more spin yet very stable.  Ball ended up pin high on a short par 4 and almost hit a cart at the same time at Woodley Lakes yesterday.  Also a lot more forgiving on mishits and I don't have swing hard with the TB to get the most out of it.

Watched Matt’s latest TXG video. Tensei 1k Pro Orange is a great CB shaft.
His launch and spin looked quite low for all his tests. That may work at his 120 SS but I’m doubtful for us mere mortals.

I’m curious about GT or 1k PO in a 10/10.5 head.

Had the 1K Pro Orange and it's a true low/low shaft with really good feel.  Very smooth and not too difficult to load properly unlike most low/low shafts.  Unless you hit the ball high, I would pass on it.
