PXG 0211 irons refuse to leave bag.

I acquired a set of PXG 0211 irons with MMT shafts earlier this year.  $79 per club was too much to pass up.  I liked them but I thought the lofts were ridiculous and the gap between the wedge and gap wedge was like 20 yards for me. The look is just meh for me.   I decided to have them bent 2 degrees.  The shop noticed how soft the metal is, so be careful.  Despite liking them, I obtained a set of Ping i210 irons and a set of Mizuno JPX921 Hot Metal Pro irons with the intention of replacing them after deciding which I hit best.  Despite my best efforts, the PXG's keep performing better than the other two irons and are now back in the bag.  I hit more greens and I hit more really flush shots with these than the Pings or the Mizuno.  I think I am going to stop trying to replace them.

I just tried to replace my 0211s with a Gen4 bag deal including XP Darkness irons.  I’ve only played “just ok” with the new setup but it’s only been 4 rounds a couple of range sessions.

 

I desperately want the new irons to work out but it’s all I can do to not put the old irons back in play.

I really want to try these but the issue for me is I don't get along with a lot of bounce and theyre strong lofted with a lot of bounce already so weakening the lofts will make them almost unplayable for me.

I've never hit the 0211s but they must really be nice. They are definitely a good looking club for sure. The Gen 4 XP's are the best overall irons I have ever played.

I love the look and feel of the XPs (when I hit one well).  I just don’t remember having an awkward transition period with the 0211s.  I took to them quickly and had great results right away.

 

I’m probably being unrealistic in expectations that a completely new bag would bring immediate results.  I just thought with the same shafts and similar lofts, it would be seamless.

 

I’m going to keep at it with the XPs and hopefully it will work out.
